Help me with my compilation CD for George Bush |
|
As a present for our great Commander in Chief, I am putting together a compilation music CD, but I am having a little trouble. Some groups should automatically be added to the disc: 1. Simple Minds 2. The Pretenders 3. Dire Straits 4. Lush 5. Doobie Brothers 6. Strangelove 7. Talk Talk
I need to add some more groups to the list, though. Some I've thought about include: A. Police (for the police state he's building) B. Bow Wow Wow (because he's barking mad) C. Earth, Wind & Fire (For what will be left of the planet when he's through.)
Of course, groups like AC/DC and Queen are out.
Can anyone help me fill out the rest of the 600 tracks of my CD? Only real groups are allowed (and not those with names like "Nothing Short of a Bullet" for obvious reasons.)

But why do you insist on excluding Queen? They have a song off the album "A Night at the Opera" called "Death on Two Legs" that has been my official * song for quite some time. Do a search for the lyrics and see for yourself.
But as for other possibilities:
Blur (for how he blurs the truth) Talking Heads (the media) War (obvious) Damn Yankees (a nod to world opinions of the US)
On edit:
Queensryche (specifically the album "Operation: Mindcrime"

6. Ah, but there's a reason ... |
|
Because this is for a Republican, there are arbitrary and non-sensical rules to abide by. We must only list names of groups. Listing song titles would make it too easy and real Americans like to work hard.
AC/DC and Queen, although writers of apt songs, must be off the list because their names represent deviant lifestyles that are not part of the Republican's Culture Club.

Hey there, Georgy girl Swingin' down the street so fancy-free Nobody you meet could ever see The loneliness there Inside you
Hey there, Georgy girl Why do all the boys just pass you by? Could it be you just don't try Or is it the clothes you wear?
You're always window-shopping But never stopping to buy So, shed those dowdy feathers and fly A little bit
Hey there, Georgy girl There's another Georgy deep inside Bring out all the love you hide And, oh, what a change there'd be The world would see A new Georgy girl
INSTRUMENTAL BRIDGE
Hey there, Georgy girl Dreamin' of the someone you could be Life is a reality You can't always run away
Don't be so scared of changing And rearranging yourself It's time for jumping down from the shelf A little bit
Hey there, Georgy girl There's another Georgy deep inside Bring out all the love you hide And, oh, what a change there'd be The world would see A new Georgy girl
(Hey there, Georgy girl) Wake up, Georgy girl (Hey there, Georgy girl) Come on, Georgy girl (Hey there, Georgy girl) Wake up, Georgy girl (fade out)

I looked at my mp3s and came up with a few. You won't have any of these, but it was fun to take a look. They'd all work in various ways.
10,000 Maniacs Altered Images Arson Garden Babble Boiled In Lead (well, wishful thinking) Caterwaul Curve Dead Can Dance Death In June Faith and the Muse Fetchin' Bones Five For Fighting Four Way Cross Fuzzbox Garbage Gong (as in "what are they smoking??") Harm Farm Hex In The Nursery Invisible Limits Love Is Colder Than Death Lush Missing Persons Psychowelders Rip Rig and Panic Single Gun Theory Sunday All Over The World (the religious aspect) Swimming With Sharks Texas This Mortal Coil Unbelievable Truth War Wiggles
(Yes, I listen to very obscure music, why do you ask?)

11. I actually listed Lush ... |
|
... Missing Persons (for all the Liberal Activists about to "disappear") is apt, along with Harm Farm and, of course, Garbage. Invisible Limits is also good, since none of us know exactly where our civil liberties begin and end anymore.

I'm bummed, while looking at my mp3s I found out that about 40gb worth have been trashed somehow. They're just gone! Maybe I had a virus, I don't know. I have to do a lot of detective work to see what happened. At least, everything was from my own collection (I have about 1500 CDs) so the music isn't gone, I just have to re-rip them.

14. Frank Zappa "Son of Orange County" |
|
I have been lurking for a year, waiting for a topic to weigh in on. I read this and I knew it was the one.
And in your dreams you can see yourself as a prophet, saving the world. The words from your lips I just can't believe you are are such a fool

|
1. Devo - for building a bridge to the 18th century 2. Air Supply - for the Bush environmental policies that will soon leave us gasping for fresh air 3. Meco -- for the hodgepodge of failed ideas 4. Men at Work -- for all of them who aren't 5. Wall of Voodoo -- for the economic policy 6. Simply Red -- for our embarassment before the world 7. U2 -- for our Freeper friends who are getting just as screwed as us.
