3. my letter to Hardball... |
|
Dear Hardball,
You showed your "true colors" yesterday with the dismissing of the latest information on Bush's AWOL investigation. Somehow the Swiftboat story can take up 2 weeks of your time and with the constant bombarding of the ad and analysis, it magically caused the polls to affect Kerry... Once the damage is done, you wash your hands and say move on, we're sick of this stuff...
How transparent can this be? I was given a glimmer of hope when you at least were trying to discredit the Swiftboat story but I'm now convinced I was duped and the whole point was really just to show the ad as many million times as possible...
Disgraceful.

4. Doesn't matter, the damage is done. Look at the lies of the Swift... |

Boat vets and their impact. The only difference is that the facts against Bush's record are facts, along with testimonial (reference 60 minutes interview w/Former Texas House Speaker and Lt. Gov. Ben Barnes).
The only thing they can do at this point is either ignore the mess or discredit Barnes. I bet Rove goes for the latter, but it still won't do any good.

7. Gee, and they ask this |
|
After spending three weeks running without comment or analysis all the trash of the Swifties, trying to persuade the public that people who weren't there could somehow tell us 35 years later what a fraud Kerry is.
Now they have documentation, eyewitnesses and sworn statements regarding Bush's desertion, and now they're wondering aloud whether any of this matters.
Streetwalkers.

10. Here's what I just emailed to Hardball: |
|
Re: bush's military records:
ABSOLUTELY Bush's military records are relevant. In fact, HE started it with his henchmen, the "swift boat swifties," attacking John Kerry for his proven, verifiable experience in Vietnam. So a close examination of his own military "service" is FAIR GAME. Hey, Bush, if you can't stand the heat, get OUT of the kitchen - or better yet, please get OUT of OUR White House! And next time, make sure it isn't a GLASS house.

are two things. Frankly, I can't blame anyone for not wanting to go to Vietnam. HOWEVER, anyone who actively supported it, who worked to elect candidates who supported it, in my mind, had no business trying to avoid going. If you support a war, you should be willing to fight it. My dad supported WWII and enlisted in the Navy when he was 17. The only excuse for avoiding it, it seems to me, is not supporting it in the first place.
My other problem is that he lied. He lied about getting preferential treatment and he lied about fulfilling all the requirements. He even lied in his autobiography about how long he was flying. To me, those two things make him a liar and a hypocrite, two qualities I don't want to see in a President.
