So I went out for breakfast this morning |
|
in Iowa City, IA, a very liberal town, in a very liberal county in a battleground state, and to my dismay, on the table with the Heinz Ketchup, there were also "W" ketchups. I'm all for equal time, but ketchup is ketchup, and we all know the "W" ketchup is one of those "oh so mature" GOP ploys, right along with beating up the Dixie Chicks and France.
So, my friends and I took some "Bush facts" stickers, that one of our colleagues had made, and covered the labels on the "W" ketchup with them -- the stickers all tell the TRUTH about the Bush administration.
I just thought it was really weird. The employees are all basically deadhead-looking people, and it's this eclectic "hangover" hamburger joint in a liberal college town.
I also saw three people today with Bush T-shirts, and the Bush yard signs have just begun to go up.
What is with these people? Were they ASHAMED of him, before he got a bounce? We all know that GOP devotees are bah-bah followers. Did they have to wait for Chimpy to get "cool" again, before they supported him?

I just picked some of them up at a party. I'll see if I can get them, though.

29. I guess we could all make our own using self-adheasive labels. |
|
I love this idea. You can paste them in all sorts of places. One of the best places would be on beer cans, and hot dog packs in the grocery stores. I think I will past some on the inside covers of the Freeper books in Wal-Mart. Anybody else have some ideas on what to print on the stickers and where to paste them?

10. How do you think those bottles of Ketchup got there? |
|
I bet some wingnut put them there. Doesn't sound like the kind of place where "W" ketchup would be served deliberately. I can't even imagine what W ketchup is made with. Ingrediants: Oil, filthy money, soldiers' blood, worker's sweat, poor mother's tears, and a big dose of "who cares I have what I want so screw everyone else" republican bile.

17. Oh it's another "wolf" joining us! |

We've had so many newbie wolves around here lately, and interestingly, they all have such a "different" perspective on things, if you know what I mean.
Somebody called one of them a neutered Yorkie last night.

11. You can get stickers that are perfect for that here |
|
Most of the titles are available in stickers. http://brainbuttons.comThey're little round 1.25" stickers that would look GREAT on a W ketchup bottle. Lots of provocative titles too :)

6. I'm in NM, and the yard sign count on my street |
|
this morning was 4 Kerry, one Kucinich with a printed "Listen to Air America" advert on it, one Badnarik, and NO BUSH. This is a heavily Hispanic area with a reasonably large southeast Asian population and sprinklings of everything else you can imagine, not a Bush stronghold, but not even the "Support our Troops, god bless Bush" sign people have a sign up any more.
I haven't seen any "W" ketchup in this part of town, but this isn't a ketchup kind of area. People prefer salsa on everything, ketchup being too bland.
The stickers are a nice idea. I keep my "NO W" stickers with me just in case a similar occasion presents itself.

21. I don't get it. Are they trying to brand W as a stand alone consonant? |
|
Play music from Bonanza (if you're old enough)
A rugged individual, played by the Marboro man. A man who knows who he is, doesn't need some pantywaist vowel telling him what to think.
Or will he soon be known as the candidate formally known as W?
What's his position on minimalism. Oops, that's right, we already know.
What's Cheney's middle initial? It's probably something like S for sadist. They could run as S & W.
Sorry, too much coffee.

I'm in Coralville, just wondering which restaurant you were in. My guess is someone in town for the Iowa/Iowa State game is responsible. No restaurant in Iowa City would dare to put W ketchup on the table if they know how to keep their business. If it was done intentionally I will no longer eat at that restaurant, and I will spread the word to others.

Yeah -- It kind of blew my mind. And why Iowa City? A friend of mine told me that Johnson County swung the entire state for Al Gore, last time.

I think that's why you're seeing signs go up now. A lot of people didn't have easy access to them until this past week.
Anyhoo, maybe the W ketchup was meant to be ironic? LOL!
