Who else thinks that they're going to drag him out from wherever sometime in October?
I've been calling him October Bin Laden for months now, and I keep seeing snippets in the news that seem to be indicating they're really about to pull this off as their October surprise.
What do y'all think? Wouldn't it be too transparent?

If the Bush administration had captured Bin Laden months ago, they would have carted him out by now. I just don't think they would be able to resist trumpeting a big victory like the capture or killing of Bin Laden. Also, any sort of capture or killing of Bin Laden would probably involve a lot of people and would thus be difficult to keep secret.

16. Bill Maher put it best.... |
|
he said that capturing bin Laden now is like how it was when McDonald 's tycoon Ray Kroc died in the 80's - it won't matter because the franchise has been built.
Frankly, I hope he is dead because I think taking him alive will be more trouble than it is worth. Where would he be kept? And what country would want him held on their soil?

OBL is very likely dead. He was in poor health already, and having to live in caves in Afghanistan (especially through the winter) wouldn't exactly help. Nor would the lack of dialysis machines in the caves, if what we have heard about his condition is true.
None of this would stop them from producing somebody that they say is OBL and looks something like the rather grainy photos we have seen in the papers.

We need to innoculate against the possibility that a faux bin Laden will be produced by reminding the public, starting now, that it doesn't matter whether we catch him or not. There are now millions of bin Ladens, especially energized by our campaign in Iraq.
The time to catch OBL was while we were in Afghanistan, right after 9/11. Instead, shrubby let him and the Taliban get away. It's too late to catch them now. They've got replacements lined up.
We need to hammer away at this. Shrubby f*cked up big-time after 9/11.

But I've just had this feeling about this for the longest time.
Don't get me wrong, I think this evil scumbag deserves to be caught and punished, but I think there's enough duplicitous players in Pakistan that an October surprise could be had.
It's just been a hunch though and I would *not* be surprised, but I wonder how the people would react?

Even the simplest of simpletons who unless they have already pledged to marry George W. Bush will not be fooled into voting for him due to any sort of such "October Surprise"

Can't you just hear the dittoheads and the faux news talking heads and "pundits" screeching "conspiracy politics" if it happened and the timing was questioned?
In other words, they'd be saying "oh that would have been too obvious a political ploy" therefore it couldn't have been a political ploy.

the importance of OBL lately. That was a mistake if they want bragging rights to his capture.

The CIA said that he left on a boat to Indonsia. If he stayed in Afghanistan he would be stupid. Anybody here think that he is stupid? He started off with $60 Million and it has been reported now has around $250 Million with his various legitimate businesses. Also, any proof that he has kidney probs? He has denied it. Yeah, he would but any proof that he is on dyalyis?
Dead or alive he is a hero to millions. His death or capture wouldn't decrease Al Q. recruitment, most likely increase it.
