Anyone yet seen/read my new book The Terror Timeline?
My book The Terror Timeline was released on Tuesday and appears to be doing well. It's been bubbling just under the 100 spot on Amazon.com's list of most purchased books for the past few days. I was wondering though, if anyone here at DU has managed to buy or read it yet? I'm also curious what kind of placement it's getting in bookstores.

If you haven't purchased it yet, you can here:

http://www.cooperativeresearch.org/911_terror_timeline_by_paul_thompson.jsp

Reviews:

“THE TERROR TIMELINE is a tremendous resource that will give readers a truly independent means of judging our government in its errant conduct of the war on terror.”
PETER LANCE, author of Cover Up and 1000 Years for Revenge

“A spectacular resource that is an essential tool for anyone who is truly interested in understanding the events leading up to 9/11.”
CRAIG UNGER, author of the House of Bush, House of Saud

“This is the basic book on 9/11. Paul Thompson's work tells what happened that day, tracing the events leading up to the attack, and what has transpired since. After years of self-serving reports by ineffectual politicians in Washington, there is at last an independent report, based entirely on publicly known facts, that is thorough and reliable. Read it and decide for yourself whether there was a cover-up. It is truly remarkable. Thank God there are people like Thompson.”
JAMES RIDGEWAY, author of The March to War

“Paul Thompson's Timeline has served as the definitive source for any researcher attempting to penetrate the mysteries of 9/11. This book effect a major change in the course of U.S. history.”
PETER DALE SCOTT, author of Drugs, Oil, and War: The United States in Afghanistan, Columbia, and Indochina

“Paul Thompson’s exhaustive and richly detailed research has now provided the world with a veritable treasure trove of 9/11 information. If you want to know everything about 9/11, you must read this book. If you want to better understand 9/11, you must read this book. Our intelligence agencies should be recruiting people like Paul Thompson, because he’s brilliant.”
KRISTEN BREITWEISER, co-chair, September 11th Advocates; member,
Family Steering Committee; and wife of Ronald M. Breitweiser, WTC Tower Two

1. Atlanta review
By the way, my book got its first book "review" yesterday in the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. It's not much of a review though, as the reviewer doesn't really give any opinions. I'm told the person hasn't actually read the book yet, and will have a much fuller review once actually done with the book.

The Terror Timeline: Year by Year, Day by Day, Minute by Minute: A Comprehensive Chronicle of the Road to 9/11 --- and America's Response.

By Paul Thompson

Regan Books

590 pages, $19.95 (paper)

"Timeline" is an unusual amalgam of a book --- part encyclopedia, part almanac, part investigative report --- that purports to explain the failures that permitted the Sept. 11 attacks to happen, why those things went wrong and who was responsible.

Thompson draws on thousands of public reports to try to connect all the dots of Sept. 11. He cites official government sources, reliable mainstream media, the Fleet Street press, various Asian media that will be obscure to most readers, certain nonfiction writers and others. While his sources cover the spectrum, Thompson does take the admirable step of sourcing nearly every fact in the book. Some may find this tedious; most will welcome it.

One of the most compelling portions of the book is Thompson's 123-page chronology "The Day of 9/11," which begins at 5:53 a.m. with Mohammed Atta and Abdulaziz Alomari caught on videotape as they went through security at the Portland, Maine, airport. It ends at 11:30 p.m. with: "Before going to sleep, President Bush writes in his diary, "The Pearl Harbor of the 21st century took place today. . . . We think it's Osama bin Laden."

What occurs during those 17-plus hours is still riveting reading. Michael Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" had a field day with how Bush reacted to news of the attacks as he sat in an elementary school classroom. "The Terror Timeline," though, quotes six media sources as offering at least three conflicting accounts of what the president heard, who spoke to him and how he responded.

Congratulations! I'm thrilled people will have access to this info in book form.

*edit* FYI, we are discussing one of these issues in GD2004 - the vacations:

21. Just caught the tail end, unfortunately...
...and of course I already knew about it from DU.

What I heard was great, lots of praise from the interviewer for all your hard work. Amazon reviews are super as well!

How many times have I tried to find this on the internet? It will be nice to have it accessible at home.

Thanks for doing the media's job when they wouldn't, Paul.

8. Yeah, I picked it up from Barnes and Noble
Had to look for it, though. They didn't have it in the front of the store with the other new releases, which was unfortunate.

Haven't yet read it, but at first glance I can see that I am going to miss the color coding and cross-referencing that the website affords. I know the very nature of the web is perfectly suited for that kind of stuff but it would have been nice if it would've had a little better information design.

Great work still and it will become a well-used reference book that I'll always have at the ready for my frequent 9/11 timeline discussions that I seem to always get into with people.

Good luck with the book, I hope it sells far and wide.

12. color coding
Yeah,
It's a bummer it couldn't be color coded, but to make up for that I broke the info up differently. Now there are 20 chapters instead of 10 color codes. I like the new categories and will rework the web categories to fit those. Let me know what you think of them.

I'll be reading it tonight.

Glad to see the book is in the stores. Too bad my B&N hide it in the back of the store though.

11. cool!!
I'm actually going to the bookstore later today, so I'll pick up a copy if they have it, and I'll order a copy if they don't! (It's a small independent bookstore so they don't always have a lot of choices on hand) Good luck with the book sales!

14. I saw it prominently displayed with other political books in B&N
in Edina (suburb of Minneapolis) Minnesota.

However, I didn't buy it because I'm going to Japan in two days, and I needed to buy souvenir books of Minnesota for my business contacts.

But later one, I will. It looked really interesting.

18. radio today
I'll be on the Accent Radio Network today, at 11 AM. The program is called the "Right Balance" and appears to be some kind of right wing thing, so that'll be interesting.

I'll also be on XM Satellite Radio on Thursday, the program Make It Plain at 5 PM.

SoCalDem,
As an administrator, can you help me get in touch with "the powers that be" at DU? I'm hoping DU may want to offer the book through the website or something, but I don't know who to contact about that.

Things have been a little tight the last few weeks. Might check the library and see if they have it. I will let you know

Wow an independant means of judgement. I guess the freepers will be chucking rocks at you any minute now.
