The Troops and my right to vote...?

I received the most disturbing email at work today...

My city has a vote tomorrow on a local bond issue for street improvements and more bike trails. It's all good.

An email went out to all 100 employees where I work encouraging every single employee to vote and research the issue with a couple links to newspaper articles. Still all good.


The the email closed by saying something to the effect, "not to forget our troops in Iraq are fighting every day to protect our freedom to vote." Huh?

I don't think so....

I need a new job.
I need a good come back.

1. "Not THESE troops, and not THIS war"

Some of the troops in years past, yes, served and fought to protect our freedom to vote. But not these, and it's a shame that anyone thinks so. I do support them, and I'm sorry that they and the American people have been misled into war.
