You don't think a GOP loyalist would do something like that do you?

1. No, he did it so he could one day run for office
This was a long time ago. And now his fellow idoloters are just going apeshit over what a hero he is.

He isn't doing this to help the GOP.

Hell, he isn't even doing it to honor God.

He is doing it to honor himself.

3. He'd have to be a GOP loyalist with ESP then-
Because the monument has been there for a couple of years.

5. Moore has been doing this sort of thing for years now
He has a long history of these sort of pranks. He placed this monument soon after he was appointed to the State Supreme court. Before that he hung plaques in his courtroom and lead prayers from the bench.

6. He's a "True Believer"
Judge Moore has explicitly stated numerous times that he feels his mission in life is to get (force?) Americans to acknowledge the supremacy of "God's Law" over the Constitution. Of course he is the one who defines what God's law is.

He's a rigid fanatic and a demagogue, and has been all his life. According to a profile of hinm in the Birmingham News, when he was at West Point he would stand and pray during breaks in full-gear marches while the other cadets would sit and rest. In Viet Nam he was so rigid - proper salutes, boots laced just so in a combat zone - he was very nearly fragged.

Unfortunately I don't think we've seen the last of him.

8. No - he's not that well connected
He is a one-issue judge. He got elected because of this issue, he put the damn thing there in the middle of the night, and he has been praying for this confrontation so he can go on to become governor or Senator of the state.
