8. I didn't quite get that.
What do we have against the guy who puts shopping carts back? That bit struck me as kinda nasty. "You, with your cleft palate..."????

I love Randi's show but that intro left me scratching my head.

7. Al Qaeda can't get anyone more foolish than you, George
Reading a statement issued by Al Qaeda after the Madrid train bombings -- they want Bush in office because he's so inept. Why would Denny and Dick say just the opposite? Fear sells.

11. Why aren't you holding Hastert to the same standard as CBS?
After all, he lied when he said that Al Qaeda favors Kerry as president. Do I believe the Speaker of the House, or Al Qaeda? A real conundrum.

You're going to have to believe Al Qaeda, because it's their endorsement, and they said they back Bush! March 18, 2004.

13. "Miscalculations!"
Kerry's speech today was great -- concrete criticisms with concrete solutions. Actually carried on CNN. But today's story will be all about Dan Rather getting a story "wrong."

14. Bush wants us to talk about Vietnam
Because if we talk about Iraq, we have to talk about how they've all lied. The guy who estimated the cost, and got it right, got fired. The general who estimated the number of troops needed to do Iraq right, and got it right, got fired.

Republicans screaming about fear-mongering when the Democrats point out, correctly, that the Republicans are screwing up Social Security.

18. Not one Iraqi has made it through the four week police training course
Rumsfeld is lying through his teeth when he talks about how the Iraqis are gearing up to take over their own affairs. The numbers change with every deathless Rumsfeld pronouncement, while the true number of Iraqis trained, uniformed, equipped and ready to police the country is zero. Not 220,000; not 110,000, and not 95,000. Randi says Biden and Lugar are fed up with the nonsense.

I hope she's right. Station break.

19. Back on Kerry's speech
A terrific speech, but all anyone will want to talk about is CBS. The story's true, but the documents weren't authentic -- move on. Let's talk about the issue.

Bush doesn't even show up for a full day's work at the White House -- we don't need to go back to 1972 to know that he's a spoiled, rotten little brat.

20. The CBS documents aren't a reflection on the media
The fact that so many people still believe that Iraq was behind the September 11 attacks is a reflection on the media's shoddy reportage. The Washington press corps is lazy, fearful and so afraid of losing their cushy jobs that they don't dare report the truth.

Stack up the lies: Documents that may or may not be originals, that yet tell the truth against Rumsfeld's unfounded assertions that the Iraqis have trained 95,000 police officers. The actual number is zero.

21. Comparing Bush and Clinton
And their efforts in the war on terror. Bush let the Afghans try to take bin Laden at Tora Bora, and he got away. The Bushistas like the chaos, because the chaos makes it easier to steal.

22. Imagine you're a soldier on the ground
Talk about demoralizing. They can't finish the job that they've started, and they're getting $1,200 a month, meanwhile some private contract worker staying over in the hotel who's eating so good is making $120,000 a year.

And Randi's the one who's hurting troop morale?

23. If you're going to ask the Iraqi people
Are they better off with or without Saddam Hussein, I don't know, but you'd better ask them. I do know that under Saddam, Iraqis didn't have rampant hepatitis because they were not reduced to drinking untreated sewer water.

But we shouldn't talk about that, because it would hurt the troops morale. Apparently, it would hurt troop morale if they found out that the people back home had a fuller and clearer picture of what's going on in the totality of the country, rather then Rummy's happy talk.
