Iranian invasion coming soon.
Makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it, but the media is already trying to plant fear of another imminent nuclear strike from the Middle East.

This is how the Iraq invasion began in the media, with stories planted in like this.

1. I think you are right if Bush gets elected.
After that it is a Bush led world holocaust. There will be nothing, absolutely nothing to stop him and he will do it. Nothing to stop him. I will not stay to lend my name to it.

2. I've long thought it might be our October surprise
if not an actual invasion, then a severe ramp-up for an early '05 invasion.

Nukes, anybody?

8. The ironic thing is...
...that we became very good friends with Saddam Hussein because of Iran in the seventies and early eighties, after the Ayatollah Khomeini led an Iranian uprising and ousted the Shah, who was the US supported dictator at the time. Reagan, Bush1, Ollie North, et-al armed trained and supplied the Iraqis because of the whole mess.

9. Oh, don't...
it is so disgustingly convoluted that I would not be surprised if they disappeared up their own assholes. You can't tell the players without a scorecard.

And people just eat this stuff up. Down the memory hole.

4. This Time The US Will Pay in Buckets of Blood
The diffrence is that the Iranian military has not been denied training or equipment because of UN sanctions, they also happen to have more then enough SSM to hit all US troop concentrations in the
region, to include the headquarters of the US Navy 5th Fleet and
CENTCOM.

They have equipment that they have been purchasing from the Russians and other countries over the course of the last several years.

I would bet that not all of those fishing boats in the Gulf are there just for the fish. And it would not be far fetched to think that Tehran knows the comings and goings of coalition naval forces.

The US equipment on the ground in Iraq, is not well maintained, the logistics situation has not gotten any better, ammunitions stocks are
said to be low, morale of the troops isn't high.

This is an indication of a disaster waiting to happen.

The Next Imperial Lunacy
Super-bully going to Iran?

by Aseem Shrivastava

The coming months may eliminate the question mark from the title of this article. And American civilization may well end up where Twain wished in his despair that it should.

History returns to haunt in strange ways.

(some important history here)

<snip>
And that is what the shipment of 100 F16-1s to Israel and the stab at Najaf are about. They are meant to provoke Iran’s ruling Sh’iite theocracy into some form of military retaliation, which would give Bush the ideal pretext to attack Iran. There are already murmurs in the media (BBC, for instance) that there are Iranians fighting in Najaf. Hazim al-Shaalan, defense minister in the Iraqi stooge-government declares, "Iranian intrusion has been vast and unprecedented since the establishment of the Iraqi state."

That is also what the global "realignment" of US troops is all about. London’s Financial Times reports this weekend that 70,000 US troops are being asked to move, mostly from Europe. It is ominous when troops stationed in Germany since 1945 are going to be needed elsewhere. Where?

When one considers the history of faked incidents created by the US to start a new war – the sinking of the USS Maine in 1898 and blaming it on Spain and the Gulf of Tonkin incident in 1964 for which the North Vietnamese were held responsible, come to mind, not to speak of Saddam himself being lured into Kuwait in 1990 (as the Senate hearings revealed) – it is far from unlikely that Iran will be inveigled into a war.

6. There's suppose to be something big brewing for mid Nov.
I thought it would be the Marines ordered into Falluja again, but perhaps this is it. Big mistake either way. If the shrub is re-elected
it's going to be a blood bath.
