Do you support the war OR support the troops. You can't do both. |
|
If you support the war you must be against the troops as it places them in harm's way.
If you support the troops, you are against the war that can harm them.

Perhaps you should re-read the original post!
edited to say, hey, no fair editing! Now my post doesn't make sense!
Actually, the original post caught me off guard, too, and I had clicked on it, ready to flame away. I guess we're so used to being told we are being unpatriotic, it just seemed like more of the same...

4. Apparently, at least in your post, it isn't BS |
|
Since you just succinctly stated the second option.

My Daughter is in Afgahnistan. I have my grandson. She is due out in March but they legally can keep her in the army until December 2005. The war in Iraq is an illegal occupation as far as I'm concerned. Our resources in Afganhistan are so stretched that we are not as "successful" as we should/could be, if our goal was really to build a democracy in a country that has been on war zone after another for much of it's history. I just have cold fear in the pit of my stomach every day I wake up. I want the nightmare to be over. I don't support war, but I don't think waving a sign around that says "I support out troops" means shit. I send my daughter care packages that she shares with other soldiers, coffee, books etc. Would I do it if she wasn't there? You bet. And I still think war is a bullshit response to anything.
