Debate strategy for Kerry
In a way, I hope Kerry really simplifies his message and throws in some one-liners that can be used for media sound bytes. In 2000, I thought Gore beat the crap out of Bush in the debates, yet the media proclaimed Bush the winner of them and I think it was because his message was simple enough that Joe Sixpack could understand it. We already know Kerry is more of an intellectual than Bush, but I don't think many of the undecided voters really care about that. Kerry needs to keep zinging Bush with short and easily repeated one-liners.

1. You're right
It's not about who's the smartest. Everybody knows Bush is an idiot, so the bar is set very low for him. Rove will trumpet Kerry as the intellectual and then try to spin Bush as the homespun cowboy just as he did against Gore.

Hopefully the majority of people won't buy the same shit twice.
