Need info please on voter registration. |
|
My niece just moved back to FL from VA. She received a registration form through the mail, and filled it out. She marked Democratic and only noticed later that it was sent to her from the Repubs. She mailed it anyway thinking that did not matter. Now, my question is was she automatically registered as a Repub.?

If some Republican organization, I would not trust them to send it on to the appropriate state or county-level registration board. If properly filed, she'll be registered the affiliation she checked.
How long ago was this? Has she gotten her voter registration card in the mail yet? If it's been longer than three weeks, have her fill out a new one and return it herself to the correct place.
And other than to bump either party by one, at this point her registered affiliation hardly matters. It's only an issue if Florida has closed primaries, in which case she wants to be sure to be registered so that she can vote in the primary the way she wants to.

4. She has been back in FL for about a month. As far as I know the |
|
form came to her in the mail. The mailing address was Repub. If she gets a card saying she is Repub. what can she do? She will really be pissed. She doesn't know how criminal the Repubs are. I will have to fill her in. I turned her mother, my sister, to Dem. but my B-I-L is a lost cause. I hope the dog trips him on Nov.2 and he cannot get to the polls.

7. If she gets back a voter registration card |
|
that lists her as a Republican, she just needs to fill out a new one that shows here as a Democrat.

8. Have here contact her voter registration office for confirmation |
|
Have check her party affiliation, to make sure she is legally registered and which polling place to appear at.
Everyone should check with their voter reg office as the days near, just to make sure no one is up to any funny business.
