Yes Bush is an idiot. Of course, he was an idiot in 2000 as well and he did end up the president. It CAN happen again.

13. Dumb isn't the problem. It's ignorance and apathy. |

I live in one of the reddest of the red states. These people pay so little attention to Bush's policies and screwups that it literally scares me. They blindly follow Bush because they're too either too lazy to bother paying attention or they just don't care.
They still believe that he's honest and trustworthy. How anyone who has paid even a minimal amount of attention the past couple of years can believe that is simply amazing.
People may not be dumb. But, the near half of the public that still approves of Bush either isn't paying attention or just doesn't care.

10. If that premise were true Gore would be president. |

If a poll isn't credible due to a bias in the cohort then nobody should be buying it because it's misleading.
What I'd like to know is, how do the outlier polls keep their MOE w/in 3% points when they've got a skewed dataset?

Bush was an idiot in 2000, and he still managed to get close enough in the general election so that the Supreme Court could hand him the presidency.

The sad truth is our society does not value thinking. For all the emphasis on education, the educated are frowned upon.
Many Americans are simpletons. They eagerly lap up what is fed to them. Nothing has any consequence to them. There is little thought about tomorrow (except what to wear and eat) and virtually no thought about where this country (and world) will be in 25 years given the current course.
America is a reactive society. We are not a proactive people.
Bush targets the lowest common denominator, the simpleton who likes the good vs. evil rhetoric. That is why Bush can win.
