Here are some articles I found just from this last little bit, some even from the last two days. There must be some good investigatin' going on here. I know it won't be enough, though, but it is interesting for sure! I saw one of these at DU today, but not the others.

SNIP...."If indeed he did allow his campaign to submit reports with missing
information about his contributors, it's not good enough to claim that they
tried real hard and it was all so last minute. How unoriginal. What
candidate for office hasn't found it difficult and inconvenient to track
down the specifics on the sources of money? If you can't nail down the
source, you don't take the money....."

1. Like shooting fish in a barrel.
If they've finally decided to come down hard on these infractions, it's going to be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Florida's good ole boy way of doing things, especially when it came to local elections, left you to conclude one of two things: Either the local & state elections are run by terribly incompetent or terribly corrupt individuals. Either way, enforcement could have gone a long way to end the problem, except that the enforcement process was a joke because the agency that is in charge of pursuing these cases is toothless. They just assume that when a local boy gets enough complaints behind him, the local boy just has to drop out of politics, and the case is no longer worth pursuing.

So, this is a nice turn of events.

2. Looks like the Florida Election Commission is checking folks out.
But this board is too busy bashing candidates to even care that perhaps something may be important here. To find this many recent articles is significant, I think.

Well, back to Dean is too tight, Kerry voted for the war, Kucinich yells, and I forget what Daschle did.

I tried alert on a few, but no one seems to think that bashing violates any rules.

I guess I just hoped someone would notice that the Florida Election Commission is mentioned in just about every article.

Thud like a rock.

3. "DEAN HATES DEMS!!!!!! " 56 responses. FL election fix only 1.
Just let it drop.

This wears me out. We have so much to do, and we could work together. There are too many disruptors.

6. They had a lot of friends...
in very high places. Wait till you've read the whole thing and you'll really be tearing your hair out, while you're hanging over the toilet bowl. It's pretty frightening stuff.
