maybe they know Bill Burkett (or someone else) has secured the originals, only to be released in the event of his "untimely" death? His life insurance policy, so to speak?

If you possessed the originals or any other piece of evidence that would destroy Bush's political career, would you trust ANYONE else to put their hands on it? Not me. I like Dan Rather, but I would never turn over the originals if I knew my life depended on them.

This is far from over. If Rather has been working on this for several years, as he said, documents and information could keep being released right up until the election. You can't destroy a machine as powerful as the one headed by Rove and Bush unless you get help from them in doing it. Make them focus on the wrong thing. Let them overcommit themselves on the authenticity of the documents, then hit them again with something new. As they fight off the new charge, hit them again...Rather. Rinse. Repeat.

I said yesterday that I'd rather (no pun intended) focus on the present and future of our country than the past of Kerry and Bush, but if CBS or anyone else has the dirt to bury Bush with, I'll be watching. Hell, I think we should all send CBS some shovels.

4. Too late... Repugs have DESTROYED the message..

and they won. Unless CBS does something really spectacular, this whole line of attack against Bush is fucked.

The repugs won this one, simple as that. We can try to say to ourselves how the message is still the same and yes we are right, but they won the media war.

Because their party bands together to fight "lies" that are told about each other. never mind that they aren't lies, these guys are solid and tough and say what they want to say and the media LOVES it. They eat it up. And so does the American people.

Did you see 40 Democratic Senators publicly call out FOX news and condemn them for spreading lies, or even MSNBC or CNN or whoever? I didn't.

5. Democratic politicians are pussies.

Not all of them, but most of them. Big shock.

One thing I've learned in life is that "what goes around, comes around." You don't get away with shit forever on end. Bush and Rove will get theirs, sooner or later. I'm crossing my fingers, toes, legs, and eyes that it will be the former.
