HBO Real Time with Bill Maher on at 8:00 PST-- All liberals on...
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 09:58 PM by LaPera
(except, Maureen Dowd). :bounce: So expect Maher to play devils advocate.

Bill Maher returns with a new edition Friday, September 24 at 11 pm. Bill's guests will include: actress Drew Barrymore, columnist Maureen Dowd, comic strip artist Aaron McGruder, screenwriter Larry Gelbart, and Rep. Charles Rangel.

As the Campaign of 2004 heats up, Bill Maher and his guests examine the minds and motives of George Bush and John Kerry.

The show will repeat in three hours and many more times all week long.

I'll catch the rest of Malloy in an hour or on White Rose Society.

2. Maureen Dowd isn't partisan, but she writes more anti-Bush
columns than anti-Kerry columns.

11. Her problem is not her partisanship, it is her laziness.
She has a very large problem with basing her arguments on very flawed perceptions of things that are a direct result of conservative spin.

She thinks of herself as a liberal, im sure she will be voting Kerry. She just buys into lies and mischarecterizations far too often, when someone of her status should bother to find out the truth.

There are alot of people in the press like her. People who just assume that you can glean the truth from the media. If there was ever a time that you could, that time ended.

5. This is the second time today I've heard people say Kerry needs
to get some ba**s! The first comment I heard was on an eariler show where somebody said "when Cheney said we'd be attacked again if we elect Kerry, Kerry should not have said "That was inappropriate", he should have said "Mr. Cheney, I'm going to knock your block off!"

Now I hear on Maher's show Kerry should just look to his past when he was brave enough to go to 'Nam, and then come back and be brave enough to go before Congress and tell them they were wrong!

And another guest say if a candidate can't fight for his own honow, people aren't going to believe he'll be able to fight for thiers.

I hate to have so many people try to tell Kerry how he should respond. It's not in his nature to stand in front of a camera and say "I'm going to knock your block off, the same as it's not in Edwards' makeup to be mean and nasty like Cheney. I think thats one of the reasons Gore isn't in the WH today. Too many people tried to make him into something he wasn't.

7. For a 'political" comedy show...I enjoyed it...hitting on Kerry was rough.

But they were ALL saying nothing, except, Kerry better start anticipating. Wake up! And begin to kick ass---still plenty of time before the election...(as we've seen and well see compared to what Karl Rove has planned, Kerry better have a few tricks up his sleeve...

Unfortunately, I don't think Kerry is or has been ready or prepared for the depth of the slime. Much more to come. They will try so very hard with polls etc. to discourage us from voting...

Kerry will win, (and should kick ass) if it's not stolen from him and us, again.

However, we won't take it this time, will we?

8. Kerry has it in him- though Rove got the Bush friendly debates, surprise?
Edited on Fri Sep-24-04 11:56 PM by LaPera
Yes, Kerry will win, and there's plenty of time (but not that much time) Kerry does have to "kick ass" it is so important to point out how Bush is not doing anything but pushing fear, no issues...and I think Maher and his panel and guests made it glowingly clear, that Rove IS dictating the bullshit dialog, as they cut funding for poor children in favor of MORE tax cuts for the wealthy, screw the environment as long as business and corporations can pollute our lands, fuck the young soldiers, the INOCENT men, women & children dying as long as there are future oil profits and US bases.

10. I found the part that the guests were kind of boring and
Maureen Dowd is just a 'liberal' because she does not say nasty things about Democrats all the time.
