Great pics, write-up of the Dubai debate with Dean/Sununu.
They seem to get some things lost in translation about Dean's title now, one place he was called a senator and another the nominee....but it still makes for interesting reading.

I think you will really be surprised, pleasantly, at some of Sununu's comments. Remember the translation leaves something to be desired in proper English.

Here are the pictures, enlarge by clicking.

Here is a summary of portions of the debate.

1. Interestingly, Sununu admits we are in trouble in Iraq.
That really amazed me. More at the link above.

Dean said we needed moderate Arabs to work with us.

http://www.khaleejtimes.com/DisplayArticle.asp?xfile=data/theuae/2004/September/theuae_September475.xml§ion=theuae
SNIP..."“I think US policy has unintentionally strengthened the hand of the radicals, I believe there is internal struggle in each of the Arab countries between the radicals and the moderates, and we must do all we can to support the moderates.

“Extremism, war and terror do not clothe or feed people, we must strengthen the hand of the moderate leaders,” senator Dean said...."

(Yes, I know he is not a senator, lost in the translation and understanding of our politics.)

You know, people here always gripe about media coverage of Kerry. I think we should gripe about media coverage of all our former candidates as well. Dean's visit to Rome for Interdependence Day, and this debate/discussion have not been covered AT ALL in our US media. Something is wrong with that picture.

3. You are welcome.
It will most likely be ignored, which is a shame. I sent JCMach1 a PM because he did not get to go....at least he can see the pictures. He is teaching in UAE.
