I just voted! plus HEADS UP for overseas voters
I just sent out my completed absentee (Virginia) ballot. It felt pretty damn good (almost as good as marking X next to Kerry/Edwards).

When I was buying the stamp the post office person warned me that I should put an extra dollar's worth of postage on it as 'they' were sending back US letter sized envelopes that had the normal overseas postage on them (US letter is ever so slightly wider than the normal business envelopes used in many overseas countries). She even demonstrated the difference in width - something like three millimeters.

So beware overseas voters; make sure you put some extra postage on the envelope (or have it couriered) to make sure it gets there. No guarantee that it gets counted, but you will at least have done all you can to secure your own vote.

I told her I'd be happy to pay $100 extra to vote against chimpy (and paid for the extra postage). She replied that she wished she could vote in the US election as well :-)

... I am married to a Kiwi* and we are planning on staying here to raise our kids. But I do get homesick now and again...

*not literally of course, a kiwi being an endangered small flightless bird ;-)
