The war president knows what war is like...
...because he saw it on TV.

Come on guys. That is THE nail in the coffin for Bush if we get it out there. Saying he knows how hard Iraq is because he gets casualty reports and watches television is the ultimate display of delusional break with reality. That has got to be the thing we pound on during these days of post-debate analysis.

ESPECIALLY get this out to veterans organizations. Let them know that Bush thinks he knows what they went through because he watches Fox news.

Hey... I know what it was like for soldiers in WWII. After all, I watched Saving Private Ryan once. And I read somewhere that a lot of soldiers got killed.

What a moron.

...because we WATCHED IT ON TV.

That's the single most damning point in his entire speech. He's completely out of touch with reality. His view of what combat is like consists entirely of reading casualty reports and watching the evening news and HE THINKS THAT MEANS HE KNOWS HOW HARD IT IS in Iraq!

Edit: oops, supposed to be a reply to post 1... not myself. Obviously.

3. I am so glad you are making the point!
Bush knows Iraq is hard work because he watches on t.v.!

I thought Kerry let the point slip by and did not address that particular and incredible statement made by Bush. Kerry could have made so much out of it, but you caught it. I am glad you caught it. I thought it was one of the most important points of the question and answer period last night. Hopefully others will hear you!

4. I just sent this LTTE to a bunch of different contacts:
...and also e-mailed the campaign to PLEAD with them to nail this point.

===============================================
Subject: The most horrifying part of the presidential debate...

...was listening to the President of the United States tell the whole country that he knew how hard Iraq was because he saw it on TV.

For a few seconds after I heard it I hoped he was leading into some kind of joke... but no such luck. He was actually serious. Bush knows how hard Iraq is because he gets casualty reports and watches the evening news? Bush thinks you CAN know how hard Iraq is from reading casualty reports and watching the evening news?

There's no coming back from this, Bush is hopelessly out of touch with reality. I admire Kerry's restraint. As a man who has actually personally experienced a combat zone it must have taken everything in his power not to break down in either laughter or tears at hearing the Commander in Cheif of the armed forces during time of war make such a completely delusional statement.
