Run to see... "Going Up River" |
|
We saw it tonight and it makes you LOVE John Kerry!
We went to the 8 PM show, got there late and had to sit in the last row.
Run to see this powerful movie about the Viet Nam years and the part that Kerry played in that critical piece of history.
Bravo!

1. I plan to see it tomorrow. |
|
I was captivated when C-Span began showing old footage of Kerry's courageous anti-Vietnam appearances when the Democratic primaries were going on. Like you said, when I learned about Kerry as a young man, I began to adore him. I was so impressed.
I'm looking forward to the movie & I plan to buy the dvd, also. :)

3. How much war imagery is there... my wife is a Pacifist who hates war stuff |
|
Though she is a Kerry supporter. But chooses not to see war movies, etc. Would she find it acceptable?

5. Absolutely she should see it |
|
It will validate all of her beliefs. The entire time that I was watching I was uplifted to see that there were pacifists that cared enough about our country to join with Kerry and the Veterans to pull the covers off of the War. To see it as it was -a horror for our people and for their people.
I wanted to take my mom, 85,but I was afraid to do it. I thought it would be like a John Wayne movie. I'm going to take her next week. She will love it I know.
It is just the opposite! It is a movie that tells us to "Study War No More... Study PEACE!"

It left me reeling with anger about war..both the Vietnam and the Iraq war.
Please don't miss this movie. You will see a portrait of a complex, thoughtful and very courageous man.
We will be blessed if he becomes our president.
