'Millionaire' contestant had no clue who administered Iraq |
|
I was in a thrift store a few days back. A TV was tuned to 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire.' The question was, "Who was the U.S. administrator in charge of Iraq after the war? Paul Wolfowitz, Tommy Franks, Paul Bremer and (one more neocon creep, I believe Doug Feith.)"
Those of us who follow the story at home can blurt out in our sleep, "Paul Bremer!" (After they decided Jay Garner wasn't the guy for the job.) Our contestant was stumped.
"Computer, take away two incorrect answers." Options remaining: Tommy Franks, Paul Bremer. Our contestant: "Um, um, um."
"Paul Bremer! Don't you read a newspaper!" I shrieked. "Excuse me, ma'am?" asked the cashier." "Oh, just the game show contestant. She's gonna vote and has no idea who's involved in Iraq. I swear I'm gonna rip my hair out."

1. Did they get it, miss it, or quit? |
|
How much was the question worth?
