I hate Dr. Phil, but Kerry is doing very well on it today. |
|
Sorry, the announcement that he was gong to be on Dr Phil today was on another post, but I can't find it now.
I NEVER watch this nut, but I decided to turn it on to see what was going on. For those who watch the good Dr., Kerry did a very good job today. I didn't see the very first part, but Phil has comments between segments, and he said Kerry did a terrific job with his children when he and his first wife broke up. Phil even said, Kerry could have written my book on how you should handle situations like this.
I'm still not going to watch Dr. Phil, but I guess there are lots of people who do. They will like Kerry a lot better after this show.

1. All I know is that the ads all acted as if it was about divorce... |

the whole segment. I guess I'll see it when I get home.

11. I think that's good because |
|
If they think it's going to be scandalous, freeps and undecideds are more likely to tune in and find out that Kerry's a good guy after all.

19. How about Edwards getting thanked by Cheney for a |
|
nice comment he made about his family? Edwards' response? "you're welcome, you're welcome".
Kerry and Edwards are two decent, wonderful men who care about the issues that will make us great and proud again.

2. That's good because ... |
|
for some totally unscientific reason, I have a feeling some of Dr. Phil's viewers are undecideds. Don't know why. Just a gut feeling. Some of his viewers seem to think he is practically God, so having him say good things about Kerry can only help.

7. For what it's worth Pat, Phil didn't do that today. |
|
As I said, I NEVER listen to him, so I don't know how he treats his other guests. He really had nothing but good comments today. Even the end of the show, he said "Kerry seems like a plant that blooms wherever it lands. He gets it, and really understands the regular American family."

5. Teresa is with him talking about how she raised her sons. |
|
She did a very good explaination too! The kind of discussions they are havine on this show should definately improve the viewers opinion of both of them.
Oh God, I can't believe I'm suggesting people watch Dr Phil!

3. Brilliant move on Kerry's part. |

He just reached a segment of America that is hard for a politician to get through to. Very wise move.

6. I agree. I'm no fan of "Dr." Phil at all, but... |

... this was a huge win for JK. The show was nicely done -- a really genuine, warm conversation. Really showed JK at his best. :)

8. WTF? I just turned it on and it was the Bush Dr. Phil |
|
being aired again! They said they were gonna show the Kerry one next Wednesday. WTF? They already aired the Shrub one a while ago and had been promoting the Kerry one all week. So I turn it on to catch the end and it's not Kerry it's Shrub! :tinfoilhat:

I guess you'd have to contact your local station and ask why. I'm in Ga. and Kerry & Teresa were on here.

and it was Dr. Phil himself on the end of the program saying they would be airing the Kerry interview next week, so it's obviously not just a local switch. They must have done it in other markets. I wonder which? (hmmm, other swing states perhaps?)
Anyone else have this happen?

What a sucky, partisan thing to do. Watcha bet you get 'technical difficulties' next week?
I wish i had seen the bushes' interview to compare, but Dr. P and his wife could not say enough good things about the Kerrys.
The interview was not at all political ( as I'm almost sure the * one was). John and Teresa spoke as any two caring, sweet parents. They played a clip of one of his daughters recounting the tale of Kerry doing resuscitation on a hamster.
They discussed Kerry's childhood - changing boarding schools a lot, and how he wanted more stability for his daughters. He said kind things about the girls' mother and spoke of being on the phone til 1:30 am helping with term papers.
The pair came across as genuine, kind and normal.
Dr. Phil said Kerry seemed like he had icredible strength coupled with a gentle spirit. It was cool. And Mrs. Dr. Phil seems to highly approve of the Kerrys.
Dr. Phil also said he was at first neutral about Teresa. He mentioned that he had ony heard what the media had to say. He knew he would be impressed, but he had no opinion of her personality. He said that she impressed him with her sense of humour, etc.
Al in all, a wonderful opportunity for Kerry. My daughter and I delayed our horse ride to watch it ( and we NEVER watch that show.) I'm glad we did. Made the ride on this crisp autumn day even more enjoyable!
Hope that tells y'all a bit of the content. They did build it up to be "scathing" toward the couple, but that no doubt drew in the freepers so they could see the real deal.... AND HEAR DR. PHIL SAY: KERRY GETS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

28. In Orlando, it comes on twice a day -- one episode is from a week ago |
|
It comes on at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The episode that airs at 3:00 is always the same episode that aired one week ago at 7:00.
