With all this new info coming out about voter registration |
|
Where does one go to see if they are indeed registered? ( I feel really silly asking this, so please don't come down on me too hard ) Thanks!

the board of elections in the county seat on Monday (not realizing it was Columbus Day) to check for a man at our township fair Democrats' tent who said he'd filled out a form in August and hadn't received a card. Someone answered and looked him up onscreen, said he was registered on the official voter rolls, and gave instructions on voting without a card. Way cool.

3. Each state is different. In Texas, it's often the County Tax Assessor. |

Here's a list of Voter Registrars by county. Look up yours and call them. Since its public information, they should be able to tell you over the phone. (You should have a Voter Registration Card. They're sent by mail.) http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/votregduties.shtml

8. You should be able to find out online. |
|
I had to change my address a few months ago. I didn't realize my registration was in a "suspended" status because I had forgotten to change it. I decided to check out my registration online and found the "suspended" status. I got a voter reg card from the libary and filled it out with corrected address and mailed it in. Every few days I would check to see if it was changed. Took two weeks but it finally got fixed. I'm in Texas in the DFW metro BTW...

9. That's what I was trying to find out...... |
|
How to find it online, but I called and found out instead. No biggie, except that I had to hold for a long time, which is understandable seeing that they have had such an influx of new voters this year.
You see, I changed my info ( address info) and as I suspected, they did not have the correct info yet, so I will go to my old precinct or vote early.
Thanks for the upshot, I love Dallas, I attended college there and it has always held a special place in my heart!

5. I really really REALLY hope Kerry brings this up tonight |
|
He can mention certain voter registration firms and how they are blatently trying to "fix" the election....and then give details how to confirm you are in fact registered to vote.
If you've registered at a store, or in a mall - TAKE HEED - YOU MIGHT NOT BE REGISTERED!!!!!! There must be some way to confirm you are registered.....

6. I have been working registering voters in Cal. |
|
I make a point of telling people that if they do not receive a voter registration card to call the county registrar of voters and find out what's up. I also caution them to keep the receipt at the bottom of the form - that can be used to file a provisional ballot if necessary.
