Anti-Kerry Chain Letter Circulating
In case this hasn't been brought up, there is an anti-Kerry chain letter circulating. It uses scare tactics by connecting terrorist events together to come to a conclusion. People are buying it.

It's nonsense as far as I am concerned. I got it because I registered my domain name using Yahoo. Yahoo has somehow spread my domain e-mail address around and I am dropping the domain name because I have been getting spammed to death for the past 2 years. My forwarded to address is not getting anything directly.

It amazes me how this administration and its supporters have terrified (or should I say terrorized) people to the point of hysteria in many cases.

With a bit of Googling I found it in a number of places on the web, this being one:

http://libertynewsforum.com/news/index.php?p=38

Has anyone else been unfortunate enough to get this "spam?"

Here it is (Sorry for the lousy formatting):

This is just another piece of propaganda started by someone.

Moderator: if you think this should not be posted, by all means block it, but I think our members know better than to believe this garbage. It might be interesting to see how some of our members can tear this apart.

REALITY OF OUR PERIL
This is very informative. You have to read the
catalogue of events in this brief piece. Then, ask yourself how anyone can take the position
that all we have to do is bring our troops home from Iraq, sit back, reset the snooze alarm, go
back to sleep, and no one will ever bother us again. In case you missed it, World War III
began in November 1979... that alarm has been ringing for years. US Navy Captain Ouimette is
the Executive Officer at Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida. Here is a copy of the speech
he gave last month.
It is an accurate account of why we are in so much trouble today and why this action is so
necessary. WILL YOU HELP BY PASSING THIS ON?
AMERICA NEEDS TO WAKE UP!
That's what we think we heard on the 11th of September 2001 (When more than 3,000 Americans
were killed -AD) and maybe it was, but I think it should have been "Get Out of Bed!" In fact, I think
the alarm clock has been buzzing since 1979 and we have continued to hit the snooze button
and roll over for a few more minutes of peaceful sleep since then. It was a cool fall day in
November 1979 in a country going through a religious and political upheaval when a group of
Iranian Students attacked and seized the American Embassy in Tehran. This seizure was
an outright attack on American soil; it was an attack that held the world's most powerful country
hostage and paralyzed a Presidency.
The attack on this sovereign U. S. embassy set the stage for events to follow for the next 25
years. America was still reeling from the aftermath of the Vietnam experience and had a
serious threat from the Soviet Union when then, President Carter, had to do something.
He chose to conduct a clandestine raid in the desert. The ill-fated mission ended in ruin, but
stood as a symbol of America's inability to deal with terrorism. America's military had been
decimated and down sized/right sized since the end of the Vietnam War. A poorly trained, poorly
equipped and poorly organized military was called on to execute a complex mission that was
doomed from the start. Shortly after the Tehran experience, Americans to be kidnapped and
killed throughout the Middle East. America could do little to protect her citizens living and
working abroad. The attacks against US soil continued.
In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high explosives was driven into the US Embassy
compound in Beirut When it explodes, it kills 63 people. The alarm went off again and
America hit the Snooze Button once more.
Then just six short months later a large truck heavily laden down with over 2500 pounds
of TNT smashed through the main gate of the US Marine Corps headquarters in Beirut
and 241 US servicemen are killed.
America mourns her dead and hit the Snooze Button once more.
Two months later in December 1983, another truck loaded with explosives is driven into the US
Embassy in Kuwait, and America continues her slumber.
The following year, in September 1984, another van was driven into the gate of the US Embassy
in Beirut and America slept.
Soon the terrorism spreads to Europe. In April 1985 a bomb explodes in a restaurant
frequented by US soldiers in Madrid.
Then in August a Volkswagen loaded with explosives is driven into the main gate of the US Air
Force Base at Rhein-Main, 22 are killed and the snooze alarm is buzzing louder and louder as
US interests are continually attacked.
Fifty-nine days later a cruise ship, the Achilles Laurel is hijacked and we watched as an American
in a wheelchair is singled out of the passenger list and executed.
The terrorists then shift their tactics to bombing civilian airliners when they bomb TWA Flight
840 in April of 1986 that killed 4 and the most tragic bombing, Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie,
Scotland in 1988, killing 259.
Clinton treated these terrorist acts as crimes; in fact we are still trying to bring these people to
trial. These are acts of war.
The wake up alarm is getting louder and louder.
The terrorists decide to bring the fight to America. In January 1993, two CIA agents are shot and
killed as they enter CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.
The following month, February 1993, a group of terrorists are arrested after a rented van
packed with explosives is driven into the underground parking garage of the World Trade
Center in New York City. Six people are killed and over 1000 are injured. Still this is a crime
and not an act of war? The Snooze alarm is depressed again.
Then in November 1995 a car bomb explodes at a US military complex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
killing seven service men and women.
A few months later in June of 1996, another truck bomb explodes only 35 yards from the US
military compound in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. It destroys the Khobar Towers, a US Air Force
barracks, killing 19 and injuring over 500. The terrorists are getting braver and smarter as they
see that America does not respond decisively.
They move to coordinate their attacks in a simultaneous attack on two US embassies in Kenya
and Tanzania. These attacks were planned with precision. They kill 224. America responds with
cruise missile attacks and goes back to sleep.
The USS Cole was docked in the port of Aden, Yemen for refueling on 12 October 2000, when a
small craft pulled along side the ship and exploded killing 17 US Navy Sailors. Attacking a US
War Ship is an act of war, but we sent the FBI to investigate the crime and went back to sleep.
And of course you know the events of 11 September 2001. Most Americans think this was the
first attack against US soil or in America.
How wrong they are. America has been under a constant attack since 1979 and we chose to hit
the snooze alarm and roll over and go back to sleep.
In the news lately we have seen lots of finger pointing from every high officials in government
over what they knew and what they didn't know. But if you've read the papers and paid a little
attention I think you can see exactly what they knew. You don't have to be in the FBI or CIA or
on the National Security Council to see the pattern that has been developing since 1979.
The President is right on when he says we are engaged in a war. I think we have been in a war
for the past 25 years and it will continue until we as a people decide enough is enough.
America needs to "Get out of Bed" and act decisively now. America has been changed
forever. We have to be ready to pay the price and make the sacrifice to ensure our way of life
continues. We cannot afford to keep hitting the snooze button again and again and roll over and
go back to sleep.
After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto said "... it seems all we have done is
awakened a sleeping giant." This is the message we need to disseminate to terrorists around
the world.
Support Our Troops and support President Bush for having the courage, political or militarily,
to address what so many who preceded him didn't have the backbone to do both Democrat and
Republican.
This is not a political thing to be hashed over in an election year this is an AMERICAN thing.
This is about our Freedom and the Freedom of our children in years to come.
If you believe in this please forward it to as many people as you can especially to the young
people and all those who dozed off in history class and who seem so quick to protest such a
necessary military action.
If you don't believe it, just delete it and go back to sleep!!!!

1. OK, they mention all these terrorist activities
Now they have to ask themselves....what have you done to prevent the EXACT same things from happening?

Not a goddam thing.

There have been numerous incidents of airport security failing to catch the very items used to hijack the 9/11 planes, our border security is laughable, we have poor security at our foreign embassies.

We will get hit again, and I will rightfully blame George W. Bush.

2. Ha. Funny ain't it?
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 05:20 PM by denverbill
The author bemoans Clinton treating Lockerbie as a 'crime'. Yet he supports voting for President Bush who essentially pardoned the guy who committed the crime (Khadafi). Now he uses Khadafi as an example of his foreign policy 'success'.

I guess if you cold-bloodedly murder 259 innocent civilians, but then offer the US lucrative oil contracts, you can be forgiven. I wonder how many people you have to murder to stay on the 'wanted' list forever? 500? 1000? 3000? Maybe if Osama had some oil wells, we could talk.

4. Who in the world in gonna read such a long rambling e-mail?
Only someone who's gonna vote for *, anyway.

There are lots of these fake e-mails going around, and have been for some time. They're usually anti-Kerry, but there are a few anti-Bush ones, according to www.snopes.com.

Repubs believe it without getting an e-mail. Dems won't believe this fake tripe. And undecideds won't care enough to read it.

5. Send this back, "Reply all"

My Fellow Amuricans,
I'm sending out this message to set my record straight:
FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC POLICY
I attacked and took over 2 countries.
I spent the U.S. surplus and bankrupted the US Treasury.
I shattered the record for the biggest annual deficit in history (not
easy!).
I set an economic record for the most personal bankruptcies filed in
any 12 month period.
I set all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the stock
market.
I am the first president in decades to execute a federal prisoner.
In my first year in office I set the all-time record for most days on
vacation by any president in US history (tough to beat my dad's, but I
did). After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, I
presided over the worst security failure in US history.
I set the record for most campaign fund raising trips by any president
in US history.
In my first two years in office over 2 million Americans lost their
jobs.
I cut unemployment benefits for more out-of-work Americans than any
other president in US history.
I set the all-time record for most real estate foreclosures in a
12-month period.
I appointed more convicted criminals to administration positions than
any president in US history.
I set the record for the fewest press conferences of any president,
since the advent of TV.
I signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than
any other US president in history.
I presided over the biggest energy crises in US history and refused to
intervene when corruption was revealed.
I cut health care benefits for war veterans.
I set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously
take to the streets to protest me (15 million people), shattering the
record for protest against any person in the history of mankind.
I dissolved more international treaties than any president in US
history.
I've made my presidency the most secretive and unaccountable of any in
US history.
Members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in US
history. (The poorest multimillionaire, Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron
oil tanker named after her.)
I am the first president in US history to have all 50 states of the
Union simultaneously struggle against bankruptcy.
I presided over the biggest corporate stock market fraud in any market
in any country in the history of the world.
I am the first president in US history to order a US attack AND
military occupation of a sovereign nation, and I did so against the
will of the United Nations and the vast majority of the international
community.
I have created the largest government department bureaucracy in the
history of the United States, called the "Bureau of Homeland
Security"(only one letter away from BS).
I set the all-time record for biggest annual budget spending increases,
more than any other president in US history (Ronnie was tough to beat,
but I did it!!).
I am the first president in US history to compel the United Nations
remove the US from the Human Rights Commission.
I am the first president in US history to have the United Nations
remove the US from the Elections Monitoring Board.
I removed more checks and balances, and have the least amount of
congressional oversight than any presidential administration in US
history I rendered the entire United Nations irrelevant. I withdrew
from the World Court of Law.
I refused to allow inspectors access to US prisoners of war and by
default no longer abide by the Geneva Conventions.
I am the first president in US history to refuse United Nations
election inspectors access during the 2002 US elections.
I am the all-time US (and world) record holder for most corporate
CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS AND REWARDING FAMILY FRIENDS
The biggest lifetime contributor to my campaign, who is also one of my
best friends, presided over one of the largest corporate bankruptcy
frauds in world history (Kenneth Lay, former CEO of Enron Corporation).
I also take money from "The Man With The Plan," Rev. Sun Myung Moon,
and his friends and affiliates.
I spent more money on polls and focus groups than any president in US
history.
I am the first president to run and hide when the US came under attack
(and then lied, saying the enemy had the code to Air Force 1)
I am the first US president to establish a secret shadow government.
I took the world's sympathy for the US after 9/11, and in less than a
year made the US the most resented country in the world (possibly the
biggest diplomatic failure in US and world history).
I am the first US president in history to have a majority of the people
of Europe (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace
and stability.
I changed US policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded
government contracts.
I set the all-time record for the number of administration appointees
who violated US law by not selling their huge investments in
corporations bidding for gov't contracts.
I have removed more freedoms and civil liberties for Americans than any
other president in US history.
I entered office with the strongest economy in US history and in less
than two years turned every single economic category heading straight
down.
RECORDS AND REFERENCES
I have at least one conviction for drunk driving
in Maine (Texas driving record has been erased and is not available).
I was AWOL from the National Guard and deserted the military during
time of war.
I refuse to take a drug test or even answer any questions about drug
use. (wink,wink)
All records of my tenure as governor of Texas have been spirited away
to my fathers library, sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public
view.
All records of any SEC investigations into my insider trading or
bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public
view.
All minutes of meetings of any public corporation for which I served on
the board are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.
Any records or minutes from meetings I (or my VP) attended regarding
public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public
review.
Just so you know. I takes strong leadership to accomplish all that in
just three and a half years. Vote for me, and then I'll tell you what
I'm planning for you in the next four years.
With Love,
GEORGE W. BUSH
