C-span, NASA: "we agreed that NO ONE would be responsible"

there's a NASA guy on C-span, talking about the investigation into the shuttle explosion...and he states that at the beginning of the investigation, they all agreed that no one would be held responsible...

and there were NO questions about that from the press...

anywhere that I have ever worked, heads would roll over a MULTI-BILLION dollar mistake...

this must be part of the NEW shrub approach to taxpayers' concerns:
we all agree that NO ONE will be responsible....

1. Comparing the approach of someone who's never been successful...
...at anything in his entire life, to the way that NASA does business might be considered irresponsible as well.

Space exploration is a dangerous business. It's certainly not for the feeble. NASA had a bad day. There were no flight violations or constraints to landing.

Shit happens.

2. Or, to quote Rumsfeld, it gets "untidy"
NASA management had fallen into its previous pattern of complacency - ignoring the concerns of engineers and letting wishful thinking guide their decisions.

3. opinion of NASA
I've long been a staunch supporter of the space program, but NASA's actions leading up to the tragedy really were shady.

4. Trickle-Up responsibility
It was probably the cleaner's fault and no doubt he was a member of a union, which makes it doubly his fault.
