Anyone had an employee of somewhere criticize your K/E stuff?

Okay, that made no sense so let me say this again: Have you ever been shopping somewhere and had an employee of a store, restaurant, etc say something negative about your K/E gear?

Someone posted below that some cashier at a supermarket commented about her K/E button, and just a few days ago I was wearing my Kerry-Edwards t-shirt and when I walked up to some guy working at Best Buy for help with something, he said "oh I can't help you wearing THAT". He said it semi-jokingly, but I was so floored an EMPLOYEE (on the job of course) would make any political comment to a customer. To me, that seems way out of line and I would never, while I'm on the clock, make a comment like that to a Freeper (no matter how much I would want to).

Doesn't this seem a little inappropriate, and has anyone else had this happen? Is it worth saying something to management?

8. The colors are stunning this year...
... some of the most vivid foliage I've ever seen. Year 'round, Massachusetts has so much going for it. Bush is such a simple-minded little prick, the way he tries to put us down.

This is one of the best states in the country, by a whole range of measures. Maybe if Bush spent less time playing in the "brush" on his pretend ranch, and got toknow something about the wider world in which he lives...

Well, no. He doesn't really have it in him, does he? His loss.

3. I was called a "traitor"
for wearing my "Veteran for Kerry" button. My response to this person was that, like John Kerry, I have put my butt on the line for his right to speak freely. Then I asked him what he had done for our country, he turned and walked away from me.

4. Any Bush supporter gets told to "enlist now" by me...
I love how the people who have never sacrificed ANYTHING for their country always have the most to say.

Funny how they all support the war but none of them want to fight it. I guarantee 99.9% of these cowarding, chickenhawk freepers would shit their pants if they ever got shot at like my Dad and Grandfather (Vietnam and WWII Vets, respectively) - both are supporting Kerry ;)

On a Saturday, no less. I asked him if he was enjoying the weekend. He said yes. I said "you're welcome". He wasn't working at the store of course, so I guess I'm off-topic. :P

If it happened to me, I would take all the actions others suggested. You KNOW that if a Kerry supporter treated a Bushite this way, there would be outrage aplenty.

In your case I would certainly complain to the manager. Half-joke or no, the guy was an asshole And last time I looked, liberals' money was the same color(s) as freepers' - that's all that should matter in a retail environment.

7. Complain to the manager...
Tell him what you were going to buy. Tell him that now another retailer will be getting all of your business.

See if this guy likes being Yet Another Job Lost Under Bush.

10. Manager at a local restaurant
as he was seating me the other night after the debate asked if I had seen the debate and how it went. I sensed he was a Bushie, so I had the fun of telling him Kerry kicked Bush butt. Told me he was voting *.

So not exactly a criticism.

Had fun yesterday while on phone with local tech support guy while he was downloading some software to a router. He started by telling me that offices in his office plan were getting in to trouble posting political signs. I felt he was leaning Bush and he brought up he wanted to see F911 and the counter-F911 film, so I had about a 15 minute discussion with him about how the Moore film was true, * and the truth about 9-11, how * was not winning the war in Afghanistan and had actually let OBL get away. That the Saddam was contained and nothing more than a tin horn dictator and we shouldn't have gone to war and were actually putting ourselves in more danger.

Had him thinking by end of conversation.

Also back in 2000 during recount, I'd go in to family restaurants carrying the news magazines and was blown away by how many waitresses had bought in to the RW crap spewed by the pundits how Gore was a liar and they hoped he wouldn't win. They couldn't figure out that * and the Repugs didn't give a shit about them.

12. I'd be talking to their manager real fast
I haven't had any problems yet, but if any store clerk or server even so much as looks at my Kerry button funny, I'll be banging on their manager's door so fast they won't know what happened to them.

I would NEVER discuss my political views with a CUSTOMER--it's just not appropriate, even if they asked me point-blank who I was voting for.

Now, If I'm sitting in a bar with a coworker and the discussion gets political, that's different, but even then I'm going to keep things respectful because I have to work with that person. It's all a question of boundaries.

This is all part of the Jerry Springer-fication of American culture where everyone's personal business is openly discussed in the most inappropriate places!

14. I don't think it's inappropriate
I think that attitude is very American---talking politics is "improper." Politics is life, the more openly we talk about it, the better.
