If you were able to objectively measure it, Kerry is trouncing Bush presently. You could effectively call it for Kerry at this point, but the media is trying to float a tight race to get us to a credible election theft scenario.

That's why the flu non-story has been stretched out a week. The media is treading water to avoid reporting the fact that Kerry is going to win this election.

And I'll add to that by saying that the effect of the anti Bush propaganda that we have created over the last several years is finally sinking in at the point of its greatest relevance. All they had to go on was the brainwashing effect of the evangelical belief systems, but it is becoming obvious that Bush policy is inescapably incongruous with Chritian teachings.

1. Yeah, and Dean was a shoo-in for the primaries
:eyes:

2. That actually supports my point
Dean was the leader. It took a media-manufactued "misstep" to knock Dean out of the way.

3. Not true...
from my point of view. Federally uncertified software...that, I think, was the real reason Dean lost New Hampshire...it was downhill from there.

8. It's about symbolism
the media created the symbol that Dean had lost it and they blared it for two weeks. This event of Dean's scream was a pure fabrication; t never really happened as it had been presented.

4. You're right.
It happened in 2000, which is why Bush got the vote in those states who have way too many electoral votes for their population and their IQs as far as I'm concerned.

5. You're right *except* that the flu vaccine story is important

to anyone who needs it. The Mary Cheney story is the big "Look over here" story this week.

6. Agree about the flu vaccine being a big story ...
Excellent thread over at Kos about this issue.

Lots of people at severe risk over not getting the vaccine: the elderly, people with auto-immune deficiencies, diabetics, cancer patients, etc.

7. Guess what? My husband is there.
I have posted about it. But it doesn't matter, because no one can do anything about this except those in charge of the vaccine.

10. I'm high risk, too, although I think there are others

who need it more than I do. Still, I have three chronic conditions, two of them autoimmune diseases, so I'm a bit afraid.

9. And I'll add to this thought, that history has already been written

we're still arguing about stuff that has already passed.

They haven't given us anywhere to go. There is no direction presented by the Bush administration. No new ideas - no ideas at all, really.

We can sit here and play scare games and whatever the media wastes its time on, but the fact of the matter is that Bush is over. It was over as soon as those torture pictures broke; everyone knew we could never go backwards. We've been led into a state of purgatory like denial ever since that, but with no direction to go it and a choice coming up thatis all about direction, it is becoming clear that Bush is a phase that has essentially already been passed.

The first couple years of Kerry are going to be about all the koolaid drinkers coming to grips with the reality that has been painted over by the Neocons.
