The mutiny of our soldiers tells me that our willingness to kill is |
|
weaker than their willingness to die.The writing is on the wall.We cannot win.Let us get out of Iraq, help the Iraqi people economically and hope for the best for them. That is the only sane way out.

1. I'm guessing it's the troops who're decreasingly willing to die ... |
|
... for empire and oil. It's one thing to sign up to defend your nation and fight for free people everywhere. It's yet another to fight to occupy a nation that you were told you were helping "free."
As a Vietnam Vet, I can say that we (at least I) sure got a lot more of a feeling of being side-by-side with the South Vietnamese people than the troops in Iraq must be getting.

2. Or did the soldiers feel this 'war' isn't worth their lives? |
|
For the right reasons, most people would give their lives.
How did those soldiers feel about going in? Were they enthused at the time of departure?
And the military should rather provide the proper equipment (bulletproof gear, proper shielding, et al) - otherwise it's gross neglect and disrespect for life. Life. You know, part of our 'culture of life' that Two-Faced* spouts.

4. This is not an isolated incident |
|
What about 1/3 of reservists refusing to report for call up?
Despite Bush's lies, the people who would be most inclined to believe him have lost faith in Bush on Iraq.

6. if they find out what the halliburtion guys are making.......... |
|
there might be an increase in munity.
Poor soldier gets paid $24,500 a year to drive a crappy truck down a dangerous road with no escort.
The halliburton guy gets a shiney new truck, a police escort and $100,000 a year tax free.
Looks to me like they are doing the same job.

7. My friend, you speak with much wisdom. |
|
Too much wisdom for the ignorant to understand. Hence, shall we remain in the quagmire known as the "war on terror in Iraq."
