Print journalism vs. Broadcast Question |
|
I'm thrilled to see the growing list of major newspapers endorsing Sentator John Kerry for President. I'm wondering, however, why that area of journalism is showing such saneness when the broadcast groups are still a'shillin for shrub.
Aren't these major dailys owned by the same right wing people that own the radio and TV stations?
Your insight is appreciated.

1. No, they often don't have the same owners. |

The NY Times and Washington Post are their own companies.

2. Right, not a total monopoly like in broadcast |
|
Not that the monopolies don't want it that way.
Broadcast is also a different beast from print and may prove too different from the business model, but that's a guess.
