Max Cleland in Iraq Documentary on LinkTV
Strong at the Broken Places
Length: 01:00 Type of program: Documentary
Broadcast Times
Thursday, October 21 5:00 PM
Thursday, October 21 11:00 PM
Friday, October 22 5:00 AM
This sobering film focuses on the human cost of the war in Iraq as expressed in the words and faces of the soldiers and their families. Max Cleland, a decorated, triple amputee from Vietnam who has made the cause of veterans his mission, brings each story to life. The result is both poignant and powerful. As with Cleland's own journey from Vietnam to Iraq, the stories of the soldiers and their families show that suffering in war can transform its victims into advocates for justice and healing - and even for the hijacked truth about 9/11.

The aim of this film is to not only awaken the consciousness of individual Americans, but to galvanize a national debate about, what Cleland calls, the "ground truth" of war itself. Max Cleland is the former director of the Veterans Administration and United States Senator from Georgia. He served as Captain in the First Cavalry in Vietnam.

1. Thanks and KICK!
Lots of great stuff on LinkTV and Free Speech TV. I urge DUers to check them out, and support them, rather than pollute their collective unconscious and damage small arteries watching shit like O'Reilly, Hannity, Scarborough. Good to MONITOR that shit, but do your head a favor and check out Link and Free Speec h.

I just watched "Hijacking Catastrophe" -- which was stupendous. Loved the way it ended, with the quote from RFK (still mourning him!) that the future is not a given, it is an achievement.

Can't wait to see their stuff on Max Maximus!

4. I posted the whole schedule of that, and will kick that, too
Thanks for the reminder!

I just checked LinkTV, and I think that today they may be still doing their pledge breaks. :(

Later in the week they aren't, so I'll kick the whole schedule.

Hope you're planning to see Max Cleland!

Thanks again for the info....
