Tom DeLay throws constituent out of public meeting! |
|
Surprise. Surprise.
The Bay Area Transportation Partnership, a right wing business oriented organization in the Houston area, met with Tom DeLay to discuss linking 250 cameras on roads within District 22 for transportation and homeland security.
They advertised in a local community newsletter that it was a kickoff for the Intelligent Transportation System Pilot Projects sponsored by the City of League City, Pearland, Seabrook, and Webster.
After attempting to go for seconds on meatballs, I was ratted out by DeLay's local chief of staff and then the Chief of Police of Seabrook and Policeman Weber (?) threatened me with arrest if I did not leave. I was not disruptive, just hungry.
When asked why, they claimed I had to have an invitation, but could not show me anyone else who had an invitation.
I left but left 4 others, all without invitations, in the meeting.
The Bay Area Transportation Partnership seems to be a collection of businesses much like the Bay Area Development Partnership. They have private meetings with elected officials to discuss usage of federal and state funds. This seems like a way to circumvent open meeting laws.
Pictures coming.

2. is that crook going to get re- elected? I am sorry this happened to |
|
you. Probably the only thing you can do is write letters to the papers or tell it to the local federal (attorney general) office. Which I know will get you nowhere. We have just got to get these kinds of people out of office.
