Pa people. Could Clymer effect the Pa Senate race? |
|
I just saw that Clymer is polling at 6%. Specter is at 48 and Hoffel is at 41. Do you think The ultra conservative Clymer could help Hofell?

I'd say that being that Spector's lead is down to 7 is a pretty good sign. Though that could also be from the fact that they've had 2 debates and Hoeffel is now (finally) putting out campaign commercials.

2. He certainly couldn't hurt him... |

Although, I tend to believe that Hoeffel and Specter are largely competing for the same bloc of voters. Specter has never been all that popular among the fringe right of his party, but he has always enjoyed substantial support from the moderate Republican to conservative Democrat spectrum. That's still where this race will be won or lost for Hoeffel. If he can stop the conservative Dems from crossing over for Specter, he'll win. If he can't, he'll lose. Of course, Hoeffel may be benefitting from the recent swing of PA toward Kerry, and the way in which Specter is now seen as slightly tied to Bush due to the Prez's help in his primary against ultra-right Rep. Pat "Looney" Toomey.
NOTE: I don't live in PA anymore, but spent the first 24 years of my life there, my family still lives there, and I still follow the political scene there.

3. If my drive throught the "Alabama" section |

of Pennsylvania last week is any indication, Spector is in trouble. The number of Kerry and Hoeffel signs out were at least 1-1 with Bush signs. This shocked me in the heart of Repub country.
