George Bush Appreciation Thread
I think he was a fine Governor, with strong convictions. I didnt want him to be our Presidential nominee but I respect his views and morality. As a fucking douchebag it meant a lot to be when he was our VP nominee in 2000. He is always trashed here at the DU, so this is a thread to say something positive about *.

I'll start us off:

He's learned to stop picking his nose in public.

6. He said don't get a flu shot if you don't need one
I actually liked that...

Though I'd prefer regulations as to exactly who can get them and governmental intervention to make sure the people who need them get them.

24. He helped organize and energize the Democratic party
I have, in the past given Howard Dean alot of credit for this. No doubt, Dean brought something new to the table.

However, only Bush could have created the sort of energy that has complete strangers knocking on our door to congratulate us on quality of our home-made Kerry sign and discuss politics.

(we gave our official K/E sign to friends who had theirs stolen)

To top it off.. The call went out for volunteers as poll watchers, van drivers, phone bankers, etc... All slots were filled in 24 hours (thanks DFA!) and there is now a waiting list of backup volunteers.

Only Bush could have created this sort of energy. Even Dean owes some of his success to the stunning failure of this administration.

From breaking his promise to Laura Bush about not having to make campaign speeches to lying to the American public and the world - George W. Bush is the most egalitarian liar.
