The Power of Nightmares.
The BBC has just shown the first of Ian Curtis' three part documentary - The Power of Nightmares. The Rise of the Politics of Fear'. I do not suppose it is ever going to make it onto US television but if it does I would urge people to watch it. The program points out the surprising similarities between the intellectual roots of the radical Islam of Osama Bin Laden and modern American neoconservatism, and how they both share a hatred for pluralism and liberal democracy.
