BCCI and John Kerry
I visited here......

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=103x80593

This gave me an idea - so I put together an email and send it to people I know. There is nothing negative or "in-your-face" about my email - it simply states facts.....we need to do more of this in the next few days - the truth is hard to come by lately and this gives a true picture of John Kerry - especially Will's article.

"This is one of the reasons I support John Kerry. I know most of you are old enough to remember tho it may have slipped your minds. This is all documented out there on the web. I did a google search with just the search word "BCCI" and came up with 178,000 hits.

The key words "BCCI John Kerry" gave me 10,300 hits including this by my friend Will Pitt.

1. How can anyone doubt that John Kerry
Is not a man of strong character , determination , good morals and convictions , fearlessness and incorruptibility ?

He could have bowed down under the weight of all the pressure , but instead he stood steadfast , finished the investigation , and brought down the BCCI .

3. People also need to be reminded
that John Kerry, almost single handedly, found out about Iran/Contra.

4. I wanted BCCI to be discussed weeks ago
<http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2004/0409.sirota.html>

I have posted this article a few times here. It may get a little complex, but the bottom line is Kerry was fighting terrorism before * could even say the word. Why it hasn't been a talking point is puzzling...Iran/Contra, too.

From the article:
<snip>

All that changed in early 1988, when John Kerry, then a young senator from Massachusetts, decided to probe the finances of Latin American drug cartels. Over the next three years, Kerry fought against intense opposition from vested interests at home and abroad, from senior members of his own party; and from the Reagan and Bush administrations, none of whom were eager to see him succeed

<snip>

But legislation is only one facet of a senator's record. As the BCCI investigation shows, Kerry developed a very different record of accomplishment--one often as vital, if not more so, than passage of bills. Kerry's probe didn't create any popular new governmental programs, reform the tax code, or eliminate bureaucratic waste and fraud. Instead, he shrewdly used the Senate's oversight powers to address the threat of terrorism well before it was in vogue, and dismantled a key terrorist weapon

6. I sincerely hope so
But, together with OSP for example, I think these very rotten truths are something the US public cannot stomach and will reject out of hand, so I doubt they will be brought up at this stage of the campaign.
