Wal-Mart Is Selling Fear Packages |
|
Leave it to Corporate America to try and put the fear bug in us before the elections so we think of their good ole boy George.
While shopping at WM this AM I noticed a major display in the entry of the store the BANNER saying.......Dont Be Unprepared For the Unexpected........Below were neatly packaged in a Nylon zip typy bag a AM band.....A package of BandAids.....4-Road Flares......A Triangle sign that said THIS HOUSE NEEDS HELP......A Book with Federal emergency numbers.......A Flashlight.....A Book of Matches...ect..ect....
What I found interesting there was a big TAG that said....This kit has been INSPECTED and APPROVED BY HOMELAND SECURITY for use in a possible NATIONAL EMERGENCY. These kits were just added to the stores inventory this last week according to the AST MGR on duty.....
When all else fails with add some fear like Shrubya and Co.

No decent emergency kit would be without duct tape.
I'm sure band-aids will be a really big help in the case of a national emegency.

"...A Triangle sign that said THIS HOUSE NEEDS HELP..."
Although this is another one destined for the clearance aisle, that one pitch alone struck me as truly funny...
I think we're all a little tired of the fear frenzy.

I wish I had a bunch of those signs, I'd attach them to Shrub campaign lawn signs.

8. Why would you need 'road flares' at home? |
|
- This is the stupidest 'emergency package' I've ever seen. The last thing you'd want to do is light up a flare after an emergency. I can see it now...whole neighborhoods blowing up because some nutjob didn't check the gas main.
- And why the hell would you need federal emergency numbers? Wouldn't local emergency services numbers be more helpful?
- Somebody put this useless shit together to make a fast buck. But that's what 'fatherland' security is about...war profiteering.

11. Another cogent analysis by Q |
|
"why the hell would you need federal emergency numbers? Wouldn't local emergency services numbers be more helpful?" Well, Q, I guess it is scarier if you put the federal numbers on there. After all, it isn't a house fire we are talking about here. Some terrorist may drop a dirty bomb on Crabapple Park Junior High in Crabapple Oklahoma. And where would we be without those federal numbers then!?!
"Somebody put this useless shit together to make a fast buck. But that's what 'fatherland' security is about...war profiteering." And there is your answer folks. Period.
Thank you Q!

9. Sounds like an ordinary emergency road kit to me. |
|
 Of course they would have to put a "Homeland Security" label on it. BandAids will work wonders on a radiation burn, eh?
I hate Walmart.

12. What I Saw Today At WM... |
|
Above the entrance door was a "BUSH IS THE TERRORIST" bumper sticker! Store located in rural NC.
This, quite simply, made my week.
