As we all know Jon Stewarts newest book will not be stocked in the book section at WM because of a image that WM has called "RACEY" remember the nude SCourt Justices.
Among the Survival Kit I found amussing this morning I noticed some fashions while with my wife who was looking for a new dress....The one that caught my attention most was a Teen Girls type T-Shirt and accross were the Breast would be it said 2 WORDS.......SWEET SPOTS..
I grab it off the shelf and called for a manager on duty and asked them if they could give me a definition of what the shirts statement means......HE Said he didnt know "it was just a cute statement" in his opinion.....I told him I disagree and explained my obvious rational that being a sexual message....I then said it to was a RACEY statement and said it should not be sold.....I then said if your store can not carry Jon Stwarts Book because of questionable content I said you should stop selling most of the magazines and many of their lingerie products because they are just as bad.....
I was then told I had a choice to shop there or not.....they remember me from pre- F9/11 days and my crusade to get the truth why they were not going to carry the movie.......They Now Are....

1. I realize why you called the mgr, but I have a few questions. |
|
1. What are you doing shopping at Walmart?
2. What did you expect the duty mgr to say? He has less authority in that store than you do! You need to contact Bentonville with your complaint.

3. The rationalization inside Wal-Mart's head on this issue |
|
Putting out a shirt with "sweet spots" along the bustline objectifies women, thereby reinforcing America's patriarchal prejudices. In other words, women are only here to please men, especially the breast part of women.
Refusing to sell this book because it has a "racy" picture in it really has nothing at all to do with any picture. It is a voice from the left, and Wal-Mart wants to make sure that voice is not heard. So in these peoples' minds, there are two different issues at stake. One involves putting women in their place, and the other involves censoring material deemed "left wing."
