Howard Dean to speak at Gettysburg College

GETTYSBURG -- Former Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean will speak at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Gettysburg College Union Building.

Tickets are not required for this talk. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the event is first-come, first-seated.

Dean, a former four-term governor of Vermont, grabbed national attention during his presidential campaign, which centered on balanced budgets, universal health care and opposition to the war in Iraq.

Dean, who received a medical degree in 1978 from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York City, is the founder of "Democracy for America," a political action committee that supports fiscally conservative, socially progressive candidates at all levels of government.

4. Me, too, Eloriel.
I think it is great. He has had a big impact at colleges and universities. They like the straight talk, and the debates have apparently been quite popular.
