7. Eugene is trying to get enough donations to put it on TV.
I wish folks would send a little his way.

He is a Republican who supported Howard Dean in the primaries, and he is remaining in our corner. He makes some radio ads targeting Republicans like himself who really care.

Good guy, send a little donation.

through the internet.

say it's aired, and they would probably say so if it did.

6. Joe Lieberman has been replaced in the film by a laughing Tom DeLay
This is mostly being spread on the Internet due to Truth and Hope Org not having funding for wide TV exposure. This is much stronger than the MoveOn film using the same Bush looking for WMD's in the Oval Office. This film brings home the horrors of war for both Americans and Iraqis. Their server is slow (even for broadband) so be patient.

When I first viewed it, Joe Lieberman was hooting it up with Bush, but I see that his face has been replaced with Tom DeLay, laughing so hard he is crying! Almost wish they had left Loserman in as the sooner he and Zell Miller officially move over to the Republicans, the better. I think that Zionist neocon cost Gore as many votes as possibly Nader did in 2000.

so adding him would be topical.

17. Actually not looking too good
They've received 15K in total contributions and I think they need 50K for an Ad buy. Maybe if all of us who can would send something there's a chance. People can donate as little as $5.

18. Eugene mostly does radio ads. Here is one other ad that ran on TV
I believe this is one of the first TV ads he has tried. He did some great radio stuff during the primaries as Truth and Hope.

Here is a very moving sentimental ad that aired mostly in VT just before Dean dropped out. You can tell Eugene was a Deaniac. This really gets to me.

Great news. Here's an E-mail I just received from Eugene. I donated money 2 days ago and included my E-mail address for updates. Also please read Donna Marsh O'Connor's letter, link in this E-mail:

"Here's a quick update: We are going to be on the air in Iowa starting Wednesday & I will be adding Wisconsin tomorrow. Ohio is nearly booked in totality, and where we go to next or add will be based on our funds. Bush has turned his attention to Iowa & Wisconsin, for wins in those states will offset losing Ohio, so this is a good play.

Please check out the new homepage & let me know what you think. I feel it is a more pleasing appearance & interface. The videos can be accessed easily, as well as their direct contribution links. Also on the homepage, you will find an open letter to George Bush from Donna Marsh O'Connor, who lost her pregnant daughter on 9/11 in the World Trade Center. You can read her letter here: http://www.truthout.org/docs_04/102304Y.shtml. We have been in contact with her, and she wished to be part of an ad & have her chance to express her feelings about the President, his actions in Florida when he was informed of the attacks, and his using the death of her daughter & others as a basis for his war in Iraq & other policies.

She has not been to ground zero since that day, but has expressed interest in shooting the commercial at that site. I am leaving for New York in just a couple of hours, for what promises to be a powerful experience, which I am humbled to take part in. Every effort will be made to quickly edit & transfer this spot to broadcast format, which should allow airing through the weekend. We may cut it with some "Pet Goat" footage, or other images. The direction the interview portions take will dictate this. I have set up an account for this ad already, in lieu of it's finish which you can contribute to at https://www9.cruzio.com/w9a011/tnh/contribute/contrib1.php?project=12.

Please help us get this on the air, and help us fund a wider reach for our powerful ads like "What's so Funny?" and "Judgment Matters." By the way, the typos have been fixed in these ads.

Visit www.truthandhope.org to view the ads & contribute directly to the broadcast of those you find most effective. You support is appreciated even more in these final days, as we seek to stay on the air through election day.

Thank you for all that you do,
Eugene Hedlund

24. Did MoveOn use Eugene's idea, or have they had their ad up like this.
I just saw it on local TV, the one from MoveOn. Same theme, with Bush looking for WMDs, but a person talking about losing someone in Iraq while looking for the WMDs. It was more subtle than this one, but extremely similar. I usually get mail from MoveOn about ads, but I did not get one about this.

I don't think either is a copy, just two people disgusted by the same Bush remarks putting them in an ad.

26. I agree that would be good, but I don't know how to contact MoveOn.
We should just try to spread it ourselves through email and other message-boards.

Usually on a non-political message-board, it's acceptable to post political material if you label it "Off Topic" in the thread-title.

39. Moveon has a Bush laughing at missing WMDs ad.
I don't know if it is the same ad, but Hardball aired it in a piece about ads for the last week. Mathews said something like, "That was devastating. I was at that event and I have to admit that I felt a little uncomfortable when the president joked about missing WMD."

I wanted to scream at my television, "Well why didn't you make a big deal about it at the time!"

29. This one is nastier than the MoveOn ad
I kind of suspect networks would decline to run it, though. Too graphic.

Also think the sound mixing is poor - the gunshots are TOO shrill. Let the images do the talking, they're shocking enough.

31. I agree, the Moveon ad is better for TV.
Less likely to cause mental shutdown of the sensitive mind of the undecided voter before the message gets through.

I liked the ad myself but I am hardly undecided.

I'm not sure TV would show it even if it was toned down. They would be afraid of kids seeing it. I do think it would be good to send to an adult however.
