What was the closing song on F-9-11?
I want to buy a copy of the cd, I thought it was a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young song but looked on the f-9-11 cd and not all the songs played in the movie are on there like that one ...and darnit, I can't remember the name of the song. I am going to blast it from my car on election day a block away from the polls if I can get away with it....

1. Rocking in the Free World - Neil Young
no CSN involvement.

5. No CSN Involvement...
That line in your post struck me as sort of funny in a strange sort of way.

It never occurred to me that there are people out their that associate Neil Young with CSN. Yes, Neil was an important member of CSN - Little doubt that "Deja Vu" would not have been nearly as successful without his input... However, out of the 15 or so albums produced by CSN(&Y), Neil contributed on only two releases ( "Deja Vu" and "American Dream," I believe.)

His contribution to the band was so important. Not many know that Young and Stills were in the successful 60's band, Buffalo Springfield...a great band.

I still think "and Young" ... even when I hear "Crazy Horse." :silly:

10. Buffalo Springfield...
...was destined for greatness. The fact that Neil and Stephen could not be in the same room with each other for more than ten minutes made staying together impossible. It is to their credit that they can occasionally set aside their differences and create great music.

4. There's an "official" soundtrack CD for F-9/11.
And there's also "Songs And Artists That Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11"--with goodies by Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, John Fogerty, The Clash, etc.

Get them both!

6. The best version of the song is Neil Young WITH Pearl Jam...
It was on an album called "Mirrorball," I think. It is by far the best version of the song released.

7. I love that version. I believe they did this together at an MTV
music awards ceremony back in the 90's. I used to have it recorded on VHS....

9. Little Doubt...
...this version is exceptional.
However, the most awesome presentation of that song (IMHO)was done on Saturday Night Live a number of years ago. It was the nearest thing I have seen "on the edge of going out of control."

He had only two other musicians; a huge African American on bass and a wild drummer. They were all dressed in "grunge" attire...torn, faded blue jeans...basically rags.

The performance was right on the edge. Neil's lead work was RAW and disjointed. An Amazing performance that I will never forget...

When the song ended...Neil grabbed the strings of his electric guitar and ripped them from the frets...wire strings were coiled and going in every direction....AWESOME.
