IN. A. LANDSLIDE. | not a PREDICTION or a CONCLUSION
IN. A. LANDSLIDE. | not a PREDICTION or a CONCLUSION

I originally posted this in a slightly different form a week or so back. My intent was not to 'jinx' anything or to suggest that we could sit back and watch the landslide,

oh no, we have to be part of the landslide. I think we here at DU all WANT to be part of the landslide.

While my home state and city (NYC) will safely go for Kerry I still tell EVERYONE to vote. I don't care how red or blue your state is. Vote.

A solid electoral win and a significant popular vote win will mean a MANDATE. MASSIVE TURNOUT across the country is our best hope for neutralizing BBV and other voter manipulations.

If it isn't a 'technical' landslide, ultimately, as long as it is a clear WIN. I'll be fine with it.

So, this is just a little 'pep rally' speech. The kind of thing I've done dozens of times as a director for the cast of a show just before curtain. Believe it and Achieve it.

8 more days....

IN A LANDSLIDE

KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE
KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE

I'd be the last person to suggest that the election is in the bag and we can just sit back and wait for Bush to be crushed. There's a great deal of work that must be done.

But, why NOT approach the closing week with a unified confidence?

Whenever I hear a jittery Dem concerned about 'polls' I just say: KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE.

I could go into an extended explanation of 20th century polling methodology in a 21st century election. I could quote statistics on new and un-pollled voters. I could point out that worrying about a NATIONAL poll is utterly pointless.

But, I just say: KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE. Enough said.

And, as far as kool-ade drinkers go? You can't change a 'mind' that won't engage. Screw 'em! Project unshakable confidence. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE. Let them sputter. As far as I'm concerned, a bush win is unworthy of consideration. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE. Go away. The best they've got is stealing yard signs and bush is out preaching to his so-called 'base' while real conservatives are attacking him. Case in point: American Conservative magazine publishes Kerry endorsement. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE.

Iraq only gets worse. 380 TONS of explosives stolen. KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE

As I say above, it doesn't mean sitting back and waiting. It does mean going into the final week with utter confidence that a MASSIVE TURNOUT will elect Kerry and send the chimp whimpering back to his 'ranch' an even bigger, and more miserable failure than his Poppy.

1. from a republican town in Michigan
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 07:51 PM by greenman3610
from the democratic organizers, after I volunteered to help:

<**** and I are working many hours a day on the schedule right now.  We are offering training sessions four times this week for the folks who have volunteered for the entire day and they will be poll challengers.  As soon as we get those slots filled, we will work on the next category.  Call **** at the office tomorrow and reiterate your desire to work.  *** ****.  The phone is ringing off the wall with people volunteering - we could never use them all so we are giving priorty to folks like you and ***** who have been involved and expressed a desire earlier.  This is a phenomenal movement occurring right now - we've had over three hundred people volunteer to help!  I wish I could find something for everyone to do but there aren't enough hours in a day to pull all this together.  It is awe inspiring.>

6. Great news from Michigan! I hope they're keeping track of all those they
"can't use".

There will be plenty to do still after Nov 2!!!

Ya might put a bug in their ear about that.

That's when we start work on building a movement, and we need Every Body!

Thanks for posting that fine bit of news. :)

4. Me too!!!
I've been saying exactly the same thing. Family and friends think I'm crazy because the polls are not good.

BUT I predict a record turnout that will blow Bush out of the WH.

Hell I'm not sitting back but I'm going to enjoy the next week. Kerry will win and win BIG. I'm celebrating now this winning attitude (just in case I am crazy)

7. Yeah. Why can't everyone see it?
I guess too many people are still in the Bush Bubble and the Reality Distortion Field that surrounds it. For the Few who stand outside, it's obvious.

Now all we have to do is prick the bubble (Get Out The Vote).

I wonder: how many DUers will not have voted by the evening of November 2nd, or tried to vote but couldn't. And, have already voted.
