I have a crazy hunch that it may not be over |
|
The victory seems fake. Like it is having trouble sticking. The Bush camp is having identity problems.
The media is trying to convince us that it is over and that the moral value of hating someone who is different that you is more powerful than the moral value of not killing people.

The election was tilted by religious zealots who fuck their altarboys, but are against gay marriage, who have never served the country, but love guns. Dying is the generation that saved the world, in charge are now the hippies/dodgers who became conservatives and the young who dont know what its like to sacrifice. We have become the religious fanatics our ancestors fled in Europe, we have become the zealots that were the Nazis, and the idolizers who were the Japanese...in a word after saving and changing the world, we have become the enemies weve defeated.
We have nothing to fear but fear itself...has become FEAR FEAR FEAR TERROR TERROR TERROR
America 2004: male cheerleader=athlete, very macho, athlete =liberal pussy, not macho intelligence = bad, ignorance= good draft dodger - war hero, war hero- liberal whimp druggy/alky= moral, combat vet, clean history= immoral allies= saudi arabia vs allies= europe, canada, south korea etc good on terror= love saudis weak on terror=never let saudis run usa

6. Exactly - the western world is upside down |
|
This state will not last long. Equalibrium finds itself. Evil destroys itself.
What is it exactly that Bush is going to do? Roe V Wade? many repukes don't want great change - that's the definition of conservative.
And there's no money left to spend on anything.
Are business leades going to settle for four years of lame duck economy?

8. The 'western world' is fine |

The US is a tad strange though.
And no, it won't right itself by magic.

3. MSM is busy trying to "unite" this country... |
|
Got news for ya, MSM -- the lines are drawn and there's no chance in hell a Republican is "uniting" this country. Half of the country did not vote for Bush -- he is not OUR president (and I mean every word of it: HE IS NOT OUR PRESIDENT).

5. You're spending too much time on DU |

I get that feeling too when I'm here too much. When you're around all like-minded people it's easy to lose touch of reality. Go watch CNN for a couple hours. It's over.

but CNN is selling bullshit. I have it on while I'm on DU.
There's not that many insane christians. Many of them do actually know what real moral values are - "Thou shall not Kill" instead of "God hates fags"

9. I agree with you. I realize that I am hoping against hope, |
|
but I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. There has to be more to it than this. Everyone has worked so hard. It's possible that I'm delusional, and I admit it, but I just cannot fathom that the American people, except those who believe what they see on FOX News, would overwhelmingly choose an angry monkey, who has repeatedly sold them down the river in favor of the corporate polluters, rather than an experienced statesman who has vision and a real plan to move this country forward. I am having cognitive dissonance.

You could be right that when the votes are fully counted, including absentee's and provisional, it will shift the ev count towards Kerry. what is more impt now is to galvanize the same group effort that went towards the election, and use it as a revolutionary force. imo that is more impt than who wins this election. Although I share your feeling that it is not over yet, that there will be a surprise or two.

I believe all the votes need to be counted, not just the absentee and provisional ballots but even more importantly the black box votes. check out what blackboxvoting.org is doing about this and help out.

This election is lost. He wouldn't have given a concession speech otherwise. I don't think he should have conceeded quite that quickly. A few days wouldn't have hurt...at least count all the Goddamn votes first.
I've been having a terrible day and I doubt today will be much better.
Hopefully over the weekend I can start putting things back together again.

Sorry, I don't agree with it either, but that's how it is.
