Me vs Newsmax
I get this e-mail from Christopher Ruddy, ed in chief of Newsmax in which his column is titled...... Liberal Voter Fraud Must Stop.

So, I whipped off to Mr CRuddy that all the stories of voter fraud involve instances that benefit Bush. Not a single voter machine is reported to have spit out more votes for Kerry than there were voters and no Republicans were bounced off the rolls because in all likelihood, the precinct worker was a republican.

I doubt he will answer but maybe I gave him food for thought. If he responds, I'll post his response.

1. newscaster
i have always read your posts with interest and enjoyed your viewpoint. tell me, are most journalists as outraged as we are? surely most have intellects above the short bus level--why in hell are they all so afraid to speak out?

jon stewart was right--they are hurting this country. thank god for you and your honest viewpoints.

2. Well, I am retired now after 45 years in the biz
and I am pissed at the way the members of my profession have behaved, especially, those in the ivory towers.
When I was learning my craft, I learned to report facts, not color them one way or the other and only comment or editorialize if my editor gives me permission. Now, everybody has become a commentator and one friend of mine, who was once called a pundit, now wears that name like a medal of valor.
The profession has lost sight of its time honored mission to keep the public informed of facts, not opinion. But we were also supposed to be able to spot bullshit when it came down the pike. Now, reporters will accept any garbage that comes their way and relay it to the public as though it were gospel.
I don't know how many of my colleague agree or disagree with me but I am sure there are quite a lot of them who feel as I do.
I am glad to be retired.
