So Many Lies

These days it’s hard to tell lies from the truth
When so many statements are made without proof
And those who fight hard for the truth to be known
are told their “misgivings are quite overblown”

The TV bombards with deliberate lies
from those who are said to be “honest and wise”
Distortions abound on our “talk radio“
and digested as truth by the mentally slow

With forces deliberately trying to deceive
It’s getting quite hard to know what to believe
The media is full of prevarication’s
designed to mislead and inveigle the nation

When weighing the facts it is, I think quite plain
To ask yourself, -What and who will stand to gain?
If you follow the payoff, you’ll quite rarely fail
For the head of the serpent’s not far from the tail

We have all been endowed with an internal voice
that can be turned off, -it’s a matter of choice
If we would just listen, and not try to quell
our internal conscience would shepherd us well

But power and money are dangerous things
Enticing the masses, and entrapping Kings
We inherently hate what we don’t understand
And believe what we want, - it’s the nature of man

But we can see through all the mire and hate
let truth come in, and not block the gate
Those who do will be highly enlightened and wise
And will recognize truth, amidst so many lies
