It isn't over yet - Monday should see a flurry of lawsuits
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 09:53 PM by Cronus
Just my prediction.

All these thousands of people who filmed the Florida elections for Michael Moore didn't just give up.

All these thousands of Democratic lawyers who flew into all the swing states didn't just give up.

All these people who bussed into swing states to poll watch didn't just say "oh well" and go home to plan for Thanksgiving.

No, it takes time to collect and catagorize all that information. It takes a lot of effort to formulate a response to something as egregious as a stolen election in the United States. My guess is the first lawsuit will be filed on Monday, with a steamroller effect going on through the week.

Does anyone really think the hardest of the hard core activists all just disappeared? I laugh in your face if you think that.

The war for the heart of America has only just begun. And we will win.

1. Do I have any reason to believe this other than hearsay?

5. Good. I only meant to be half-cynical.
It has just been very complicated to sort through what is rumor and truth the past few days here.

So you know people personally ready to file lawsuits?

8. Sure, Cynthia Butler is a good friend of mine
...well, only because she's willing to fight.

Hedda_foil posted this, for only one single example, and you know there's dozens, perhaps hundreds more attorneys working on this....

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x2628051

Just got this in my email from DC lawyer Cynthia Butler. This is a listserv post that needs wide distribution.

I am angry and getting emails and recrimination from people
wondering why KERRY just caved and is not fighting this before the final count in Ohio, before any of the fraud was challenged, before New Mexico and Iowa even came in.
There is widespread feeling that he did not lose the election and that it was taken from him.
There is enough here to warrant investigation and enough to challenge the results. It's coming from all corners.
I understand that he has until the official count
certification in Ohio to Un Concede which is several days from now.
Anyone who thinks that he should unconcede should give reasons why - whatever they noticed, particularly in Red Republican Governed States using electronic machines- and send them directly to Cameron KERRY, John Kerry's brother at his law firm at the address **********

They should inform us if they were not allowed to vote provisionally (for whatever reason- they lost forms, ran out of forms, etc.) I personally witnessed a number of things as I reported in Texas with the DCCC. (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee)
If you know anyone in particular in Ohio who tried to vote and was turned away at the polls please get their information and notify the campaign. They should be notified if they experienced lines longer than four hours -particularly elderly or infirm people (we call that torture when they do it to political prisoners) . They should be notified if people were told as has been reported that due to too many people showing up in African American precincts, particularly in Ohio where there were too few booths (some only had two or three for the entire precinct) and told because of heavy turn out they could vote on Wednesday.
If the numbers of these sorts of incidents creates a percentage margin that exceeds
the margin of victory- Un Concession has to be made to challenge the count.
If people wanted to and tried to vote and were prevented or actively discouraged from doing so, that is a Civil Rights matter and must be dealt with in terms of the ultimate count.

This is the last email that I am writing on this subject in this venue. I am taking it up in other venues.
Please pass along this to your listservs so that we may make Democracy Work in America. We are not a country where he who cheats best wins.

15. And HOW do we know Cynthia L. Butler is REAL, or on OUR side???
I hope someone knows her personally. We don't need to spend a lot of energy giving our good research and support to someone who might "sit on it", or worse yet, use it to discredit us.

Not that I'm paranoid these days, or anything. :freak:

20. That's a valid question. (I'm not counting on this or her)
FYI - that was only one example of a fighter, but this is a valid question, although I'm certainly not pinning my hopes on this one individual.

Since we have a name to work with, and you're right that the other side will stop at nothing, here goes....

W-RONG! (By Cynthia L. Butler)

"Complete FAILURE" was Wesley Clark's assessment of this Administration's defense strategy today at the Center for American Progress lecture at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington. While the President was playing bag boy doling out groceries in a parking lot in Florida with his brother, we hit the milestone of over a 1,000 men and women who were killed in Iraq, in a war that was not necessary which many prognosticate will lead to inevitable civil war there, which most people argue has created serious vulnerabilities in our national defense and security that did not exist prior-a war which has squandered our fortune to the tune of $200 BILLION, broken the bonds of needed allied cooperation, and destroyed American economic superiority in the World to be overtaken by China with the virtual inattention of this Administration.

7. Excuse me, Cronus
but with all the contacts here, it seems we are very isolated as well as other uncovering fraud absent the party machine(even a close campaign volunteers).

I am extremely skeptical of stealth hopes with an impossible to keep secret(s). Forgive us for looking more to the "what we see is what we get" oasis of activity.

It is all getting more and more absurd. I'm ready for any crazy hope for a change working out.

I wish I was one of the Senators asked in 2000 by the Black Caucus. My life or the heavens falling could not stop me. That's a big fantasy too.

9. I saw a video in Ohio that was a hoot.
Two little freeper weenies in an African American voter precinct. The police came and ran off the weenies. I had trouble with the other part of the download but Michael Moore was also there. If this is the teaser he has some great stuff. I can't wait.

These crews are all over the country. I will look for the link. It is hard to connect if you have a mac it should work better.

18. You haven't heard of the vote fraud in Florida?
Edited on Sun Nov-07-04 11:02 PM by Cronus
Where have you been this last week? - there's been over 1000 reports of fraud in the swing states, a very insightful article by a well respected investigative journalist, tons of statistical analysis that proves fraud, with numbers and everything and you're doing nothing?

I have to ask you something, if you are part of Kerry's legal team (and I doubt that), why aren't you doing anything about it? And secondly, just because you're sitting on your ass waiting for someone to bring the fight to you doesn't mean that the fight isn't on. An attorney would know that.

for now. Election fraud reported on DU is all over the web and is hitting mainstream because I'm getting e-mails from folks who don't even know I come here or what "DU" is but our site is being quoted in articles. And this is from "mainstream" Dems who don't do blogs, chats, or anything on the internet except spreadsheets, e-mail, powerpoint and word documents.

DU has been mentioned in a Euroblog, Salon.org, Commondreams and Washington Dispatch..online sites.

Whatever is going on and if it amounts to anything in the end, we will have to wait and see. But, without hope many of us would still be lying drooling, speaking in groans and mumbles on our couches as MoPaul (DU'er) did for two days after the election.

It's bad enough for us to face "Four More Years" and to have given to a candidate who was a "loser" after some of us giving to other candidates who turned out as vote "losers" all in one year...but we gotta' hope...and if we hope..who knows it might turn out for us in the end.

21. My first instinct was, that they were allowed to cheat,
and that they were allowed to win by cheating. Just so we could bring them down. It was a setup. and I think shrub's acceptance speech HAD to happen, to clinch it. Then I got pissed for a few days and cursed the dems....banged my head a few times, cursed some more. But now I am back at the setup scenario. So, yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if the news didn't start dribbling out this week.
