"Iraqalypse Now" White House Protest Vigil NOON THURSDAY
Edited on Wed Nov-10-04 05:32 AM by mopaul
www.ReDefeatBush.com

a public protest to the attack on Fallujah and the innocent people of Iraq.

Please join us to commemorate the anniversary of the end of the "war to end all wars," as World War I was sold to the public as, and to condemn the current massacre underway to "pacify" Iraq and make it "safe for democracy."

There is no way to kill a sufficient number of Iraqis to secure peace and democracy because this is not the way to secure either peace or democracy.

Please bring friends and noisemakers, and if you are not close to DC hold your own protests locally. More information on this event will be at IraqalypseNow.com

Sign up for our newsletter to keep up with our activities, and please make a contribution to help us defray the costs of the stage, sound system and publicity. Please RSVP if you are coming.

Honor the troops, bring them home! Please e-mail your friends to get the word out!

1. Hi MoPaul! Any other protests planned for cities around the US?
This Mama plans on spending my Veterans Day honoring our Veterans by saying that we need our troops out of there and not creating more "dead veterans" and psychologically messed up young men coming back from the carnage of having slaughtered so many....

:grr:

2. this group is trying to encourage local Iraqalypse Now vigils all over
suggesting that a grass roots movement could develop into a larger peaceful scream to the world about the very un christian way we are treating innocent people.

this is the only one i personally know of, and i can't attend it, as i'm in central jesus land missouri. but they are using my graphic, so i feel a part of it.

ACTION ALERT * UNITED FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE
http://www.unitedforpeace.org | 212-868-5545
===========================================
PROTEST THE ATTACK ON FALLUJA!

*IMMEDIATELY: call local media outlets and members of Congress to denounce the attack
*THURSDAY - SATURDAY: Organize actions outside and inside Congressional offices to demand an end to the assault on Falluja and an end to the occupation (action ideas below)
*NEXT TUESDAY, 11/16: Protest in Washington, DC on the day that Congress goes back into session; details to be announced
* Leaflet and talking points available online at http://www.unitedforpeace.org
===========================================

The assault on Falluja has started. U.S. warplanes are dropping huge bombs on civilian neighborhoods, and ground troops are beginning to enter the city. One hospital, Nazzal Emergency Hospital, was destroyed in an air strike; another, Falluja General Hospital, has been seized by U.S. forces, making it unlikely that injured civilians will be able to go there for treatment. The estimated 50,000 civilians who remain in Falluja lack running water, electricity, and food.

There will undoubtedly be many civilian injuries and deaths: during the last siege of Falluja in April, at least 600 Iraqis were killed, most of them civilians. In the current assault -- contrary to the perception that the U.S. military only employs high-tech, surgical weapons, to minimize civilian casualties -- AC-130 gunships are being used, which fire only "dumb" munitions.

The death toll is expected to be high on the U.S. side as well: Marine commanders have warned that deaths among U.S. forces could reach levels not seen since the Vietnam War.

The U.S. assault on Falluja is a catastrophic action that will result in horrific and unnecessary bloodshed, fuel anger and resentment against the U.S., and swell the ranks of terrorist groups rather than eradicating terrorism. We need to raise our voices in opposition to this attack, insist that the U.S. return to peace negotiations, and call for our troops to be brought home now.

TAKE ACTION!

*ORGANIZE ACTIONS THIS THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY
We need to be vocal and visible in our opposition to the assault on Falluja. Organize actions this week outside local Congressional offices, while Congress is in recess, or in a high-profile location in your community.

Be sure to list your actions at http://www.unitedforpeace.org/calendar_gxinput.php so we can publicize and amplify all of our voices.

Ideas for action include:
-candlelight vigils to mourn the deaths that will be caused by this attack
-creative/visual street protests that use coffins or enlarged images of Iraqi civilian casualties or people dressed as bloodied and bandaged civilians or soldiers
-sit-ins inside Congressional offices
-meetings with members of Congress
-collaborations with Veterans For Peace groups (http://www.veteransforpeace.org ) on Veterans Day events (Thursday, 11/11), emphasizing the message that in order to support our future veterans, we need to get them out of Falluja and out of Iraq
-holding banners and/or distributing leaflets at busy intersections, shopping districts, or other high-traffic locations (leaflet available at http://www.unitedforpeace.org )

* CONTACT LOCAL MEDIA OUTLETS
Flood your local media outlets with messages of opposition to the assault on Falluja, and demand that they talk about the civilians who are being killed and injured. Millions of people listen to talk radio every day: organize people to call the shows in your area and speak out. Write letters to the editor and send in opinion pieces. Ask reporters if they would like to interview an anti-war activist. Talking points for your calls are available at http://www.unitedforpeace.org now; a sample letter to the editor will be posted soon.

* TELL YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES YOU OPPOSE THE ASSAULT ON FALLUJA
Call the Congressional switchboard at (202) 225-3121 and ask to be transferred to your Representative or Senator. Talking points for your calls are available at http://www.unitedforpeace.org

* KEEP ABREAST OF PLANS FOR PROTEST AND DEVELOPMENTS IN IRAQ
Plans are being made for a protest in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, 11/16, the day that Congress goes back into session; if you're not already on the UFPJ action alert list, be sure to subscribe so you'll receive updates: http://www.unitedforpeace.org/email

13. My thoughts about war
does one recognize the poet anymore.
In these dark days of deception the truth becomes revolutionary;
and the people who claim goodness put the flame to art, ideas and love.

Good times , End times
As events turn worse
It's too late to learn
If you're breathing the curse
It may be our turn
With sorrow to come
Still the Dark Ages
Were Golden for some

We never call wars

a war anymore.

They are operations.

The careful, skillful,

sterile removal

of infected foreign matter.

We shall call this one

Operation

Satan removal.

Bless the "Father"

the "son"

and their holy roast.

..................

Remember the Maine
Main what?
Remember the Alamo?
I thought you had it!
Remember the Revolution?
Whose?

If we lived 700 years
instead of 70
Wars would be few
but Veterans day
would be HUGE

................

kill
every last one
and burn
their ideas
you will find
you're still not done.

what you fear
darkly descends
from the womb
of religion
born again
the son of immortal revenge.

........................

A wish for peace
is like a poem
no one understands
it is a watercolor in the rain

To die for peace
is a delusion
seen clearly by the soldier
on his last ragged breath

To live for peace
is a wish some die for.
That we dream of
while at war

The prayer for peace
is for hypocrites
it is always for "our side"
whoever those killers may be

Realists and idealists
prey upon each other
The certainty of war
verses a hope for peace

The years our nation
has not been at war
since 1776
is zero

Some distance themselves
from the facts of war
and others pass it down
from weary father to anxious son

The shortest distance
between two points
is a marvelous invention
and its weapon application

So it is again the season
For whatever it is worth
for good will to men and Peace on Earth
Quote the poet honestly

"It Never was, and It'll Never be".

.............

The baby's thrilled to walk
Her eyes surprised
with earthly delight.
I melt with pride at her first free flight.
On TV Dick Cheney chokes
"We'll lose more lives here
than those overseas"
I believe he speaks of disease.
A briefing at work today
would make an athiest pray
I am but bare brittle bone
"Hon, can you put her on the phone?"
An age of conquistadors
When tribes were murdered
9 out of 10 from disease
That cold history, now makes me freeze
In sane times the insane mom
would drown a helpless child.
"Sweetie you're fine" I pretend
Could I watch her agony to the end?
Behind lead eyes I keep secret
If she's a victim
And the crime is small pox
Could I end her torture at all costs?
Baby remember when you walked?
Shhh it'll be fine.
Here honey take this, you will sleep.
I'll be next, I'll not have long to weep,

............

Think of your fellow man
Cut off his thieving hand
Put a lil Allah in your heart
You see it's getting late
Oh please don't hesitate
Put a lil Allah in your heart
And the world will be a bitter place
And the world will be a bitter place
For you and me
You just wait and see

Another day goes by
Circumsized children cry
Put a lil Allah in you heart
If you want the world to know
Just let our jihad grow
Put a lil Allah in your heart
And the world will be a bitter place
And the world will be a bitter place
For you and me
You just wait and see
Wait and see
Take a good look around
And if you're lookin' down
Put a lil Allah in your heart

I hope when you decide
Islam will be your guide
Put a lil Allah in your heart
And the world will be a bitter place
And the world will be a bitter place
For you and me
You just wait and see
Put a lil Allah in your heart

.........................

I'd like to build the world a mosque
And furnish it with faith
Bring Africans and Chinamen
And every other race

That's the call I hear
That's the call of Islam
That's the call of Iman
That's the word of God

I'd like to see the world for once
Without a single Jew
Hear an echo through the hills
"Islam Is pure and true"

That's the call I hear
That's the call of Islam
That's the call of Iman
That's the word of God

I'd like to teach the world the truth
And hear them praise their Lord
To work and pray all God dam day
And earn their just reward

That's the call I hear
That's the call of Islam
That's the call of Iman
That's the word of God

......................

Thank heaven for little guerres
For little guerres get bigger every day
Thank goodness for little guerres
They grow up in the most delightful way

Those little lies
So helpless and appealing
One day will flash
And send you crashin' thru the ceilin'

Thank heaven for little guerres
Thank heaven for them all,
No matter where no matter who
For without them, what would little boys do?
Thank heaven...
Thank heaven...
Thank heaven for little wars.

Anthrax is easy if you're startin to sneeze your gonna wonder if you're gonna grow old.

Anthrax is easy cuz its cured with Cipro and not contagious like the uncommon cold.

In the morning, I got changed, I went to town and bought some stuff and then I took the train I ate a pizza, eclair, and some stuff that had grown hair, but now I got the anthrax and I'm wondrin where its from...

Anthrax is easy if you're startin to sneeze your gonna wonder if you're gonna grow old.
