Wow! Letter from a conservative on Al Franken show now!
Pretty impressive. It's totally heartwarming... a listener who had totally swallowed the right-wing line who started listening to Al, was won over by his show, and even started reading "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them."

I have to admit, Al Franken is sometimes too middle of the road for me, but if that means being reasonable and being able to reach out to people, then I'm all for it.

1. Great Point.
That is an excellent way of looking at it. He is also too middle of the road for me, but I definitely think he could sway those who would be swayed, unlike some of our other voices which may be too much for their gentile sensibilites. e

3. It's never too late.
And reading Franken's book is what made Howard Stern anti-Bush administration.

6. not just Stern - many others
Including me. It really opened my eyes... I've always been a faithful Democrat, but had been disheartened over the years at the media in general.

And, what made me pick up "Lying Liars..." was O'Reilly's lawsuit against Franken. Might not have done it if it was not for old Falafel Bill.

8. Well, I guess that's something we have to thank O'Reilly for.
The ONLY thing.

4. I really wanted to be able to give "Lies and the Lying Liars"
to my conservative friends, but the language was so over the top with profanity, that I know they wouldn't have been able to get past that and accept the truth in there.

I personally don't care how an author expresses herself or himself, but if you really want to reach the audience that needs to be reached, temper the language for those who can't bring themselves to read that kind of language.

5. This is why AAR is so important
and why we need more media like it. Is it any wonder that the country has gone so far right when all you hear on the radio is hate mongers and all you see on TV is a bunch of flag waving? Thank you AAR, and we need more media like it.
