How much is the mainstream media bribing the Scott Peterson Judge?
You just know they are bribing the judge and jury to keep dismissing jurors and postponing the end to this unbelievably uninteresting media circus so they can milk it for every last ratings dollar...

Honestly, all I needed to see of this story in the national media was this:

Jan 2003 - Laci Peterson, young pregnant woman missing.

March 2003 - Laci Peterson body found

November 2004 - Scott Peterson found guilty/innocent

Is ANYONE remotely interested in the nonsense in between? I resent all the airtime this nonsense gets on the news. Who freaking cares?

1. Beyond, it's a local interest story
tragic, but local -- no national news merit whatsoever.

5. He's one of the most important people on Earth.
He must be, why else would every cable channel devote twice as much airtime to his trial than to the events in Iraq durring the weeks leading up to election?

If he's acquitted, he should run for president. He's handsome and famous. What else matters these days?

6. what's almost as unbelievable
as the amount of time devoted to this, is the fact that any of the "reporters" can keep a straight face while pretending this is "news."

Remember how, before 9/11, our fearless tv journalists investigated the hell out of a handful of shark attacks and, oh yeah, GaryfuckingCondit? And remember how, after 9/11, there was a brief moment of "gee, I guess our priorities were kind of screwed up and maybe we should have devoted just a teensy amount of time covering what looks to be the big story of our time: terrorism"?

'member?

So maybe the Scott Peterson story is getting a little tired, but what else are they going to talk about while waiting for the next sniper or freeway Bronco chase?
