Bush intends to replace the Democratic ideal with something else |
|
Most nation states were founded based on a common ethnicity, a common language, or common religion. The United States was founded on none of these things. In many nation states founded on none of these things, there is ethnic violence and civil war. We do not have this problem in the U.S. because it was founded upon a common ideal: the Declaration of Independence, which was further supported by the Constitution. Bush and his administration would have you believe that this is a Christian nation and should be governed as such. Although the majority of the country may be Christian, this was not what the country was founded upon nor was this ever the case. My theory is that he is pushing this agenda in order to convince people that the founding ideal is not what really holds the country together. If enough people believe that there is a different ideal holding us togther than these important documents, then it will be easier to violate the Constitution and downplay the importance of the ideals of the Bill of Rights. It is only then that the Facist state can exist without an effective resistance.

1. I think you got something there, Nikia |

Once people realize that the Bush Agenda has nothing to do with Democracy, or the Declaration of Independence, or the US Constitution, maybe they will wake up...
But people are still clinging (as was Kerry) to the idea that the Bush Administration is politics as usual. It is not.
