to support your LGBT friends, if you're a hetero mom of 45? Hope so. I'm determined to show some real support and commitment to the cause (I've told you DUers before - and you've been nice). I'm sick of my LGBT friends having to face bias. There are many fair-minded good people out here who do not support any biased amendments or laws. And out here in SoCal, we're proud of our domestic partnership laws, and scared that there's some way to attack them.
I think that this is the most effective way to help.

You just made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Personally, I don't think I could have gotten past the last week without my friends/allies who reassure me, and the knowledge that there are some who have come out even stronger in their showing of support for equality.

I have two other friends joining. Not everyone is a jerk, although we DUers have been wondering about the world lately (especially for the last week).

The HRC is a wonderful organization! And by the way, is anyone watching law and order? They are covering the conflict over gay marriage right now!

Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays - this is a great network of folks who get together at a local level. HRC has local groups, too.
Thanks for caring! We need more allies that can spread the gentle word that we're good people, and that are generous enough to support our efforts to gain equality.

I've joined HRC this week.
I also increased my contributions beyond the minimum to the ACLU and American's Untied for Separtion of Church & State.
These organizations will need our support more than ever over the upcoming years, please, if your not a member, join. If you are a member, consider giving an extra amount.
